MMST 2016 EXAMINATION WILL BE HELD AT BANGALORE, MUMBAI, NEW DELHI, KOLKATA AND KHARAGPUR ON 28TH MAY 2016 (SATURDAY) 10:00 AM TO 12:00 NOON.

MMST program offered by School of Medical Science and Technology (SMST) imparts engineering skills to medical professionals and train them for the state-ofthe- art medical research in frontier areas of Medical Imaging, and Image Analysis, Molecular Imaging, Biomaterials and Implants, Biomedical Instrumentation, Early Detection of Cancer, Immuno-technology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Biomedical Simulation, Reproductive Biology, Wound research and so on.

After the completion of this course the medical professionals become well equipped to fill the void that separates the medical sciences from advanced technology.

** Post Graduate Program of duration: 3 years (4 semesters of course work with one year project)
** Assistantship of Rs. 25,000/- per month
** 10 hours per week of service to B.C. Roy Technology Hospital of the institute

Eligibility for MMST :
The eligibility criterion for admission to MMST students is MBBS Degree recognised by Medical Council of India (MCI) with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate and having passed mathematics at +2 level (even as additional subject) or from any recognized Open University.

Seats are reserved for SC/ST/OBC(Non creamy layer) candidates and persons with disability (PwD) as per Govt. of India rules.

Mode of Selection :
MMST students – The selection of is strictly based on the performance of the candidates in an objective type of written test of 2 hours duration. The candidate needs to answer 120 questions out of which 75 questions are assigned to the MBBS syllabi.

The remaining questions are equally distributed to cover the syllabi of +2 level Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each correct answer carries one mark and each wrong answer carries negative 0.25 marks.

Application Procedure :
MMST 2016 application is to be submitted only by an ONLINE process (internet based) by accessing the website gate.iitkgp.ac.in/mmst from 29th March 2016 till 22nd April 2016. Please follow the step-wise Instructions to fill in Online Application Form.

Instructions to fill in Online Application Form :
STEP-I : Registration
Registration with valid email is to be made a priori to apply for MMST 2016. The Register option is available at left-side.

Please note that the details of Name of the Applicant, Email and Mobile number submitted during registration can not be changed later on. After submitting the details you will receive your Application Number and Password in your registered email.

You have to use this Application Number and Password for filling your application details, uploading certificates, uploading photo & signature, payment, take print out of your application form, etc.

STEP-II : Submitting Application Details
Login with your Application Number and Password, which was sent to your email and then select Applicant Details for filling the other details like academic qualification, correspondence address, etc.

STEP-III : Upload Qualifying Degree, proof of Mathmatics at +2 level, Category, PwD Certificates
Obtain OBC(Non-Creamy layer)/SC/ST/PwD Certificate (If Applicable). Format of OBC(Non-Creamy layer) is available in the MMST website & the certificate should be issued on or after 31st March 2015.

Upload Qualifying Degree, proof of Mathmatics at +2 level, Category, PwD Certificates in .pdf format. The memory size limit of the file is 300KB.

STEP-IV : Upload Photo and Signature
Upload recent color passport size photograph and signature by clicking Upload Photo & Signature menu.
The photograph and signature should be in .jpg format.
The files size for both photograph and signature should be less than 50KB.
The image files should be scanned with resolution of 200dpi.
Photo : width = 3.5cm (270dpi), height = 4cm (320dpi).
Signature : width = 6cm (470dpi), height = 2cm (160dpi).

STEP-V : Application Fee and Mode of Payment
Application fee :
Rs. 1500/- for GENERAL and OBC male candidates and
Rs. 750/- for all women or SC/ST/PwD (Persons with Disability) candidates.
The application fee once paid is not refundable.
Application Fee should be paid through online only. You can pay the Application Fee by netbanking/debit/credit card.

STEP-VI : Print Application
After filling the online application form, uploading all documents, the photo and signature and payment is done, you will be able to generate a PDF document of the online application form with your specific details/data/photo/signature. You may keep this document for your reference. You need not send any documents by post.
