Date of Entrance Exam – 28th February 2016

Eligibility for admission :
50% at B.C.S./B.Sc. (Computer Science) (40% for Reserved categories)
OR
50% at B.E (Computer Science/ IT /E & TC/Instrumentation & allied areas ) (40% for Reserved categories)
It is desirable that the candidates had Maths at 11th & 12th standards.
Those appearing for final examination may also apply. In case of candidates obtaining equal aggregate marks at entrance examination preference will be given to candidates performing better upto final exam.
Required Documents :
1. Attested copy of your final-year mark sheet if you have already obtained your qualifying degree OR attested copy of your previous-year mark sheet if you will be appearing for the final-year exam of your qualifying degree during academic year 2015-16.
2. Attested copies of caste and non-creamy-layer certificates as applicable.
Nature of Entrance Examination :
The test will be of 2 hours with approximately equal weightage to the following 4 topics. All questions will be with multiple choice questions.
1. Logical ability
2. Elementary mathematical skills including Calculus, Linear algebra, Graph plotting, Combinatorial analysis, etc.
3. Computer fundamentals and C-programming.
4. English
Model of Question paper :
1. Number of Questions : 75
2. Marks per question : 1
3. Total Marks : 75
4. Passing Criteria : Based on merit
5. Negative marking : -1/3 for each wrong answer
NOTE :
Candidates studying in the last year of the qualifying degree may appear for the entrance examination provided their results will be declared by August 15. Such candidates, if selected, will be offered provisional admission subject to submission of the degree result, with the requisite percentage of marks.
Additional Requirements for Reserved Categories :
Candidates belonging to the categories given below must submit the following documents at the time of admission.
(1) Physically handicapped : A medical certificate from a registered physician. The handicapped status will be verified by a physician approved by the University of Pune.
(2) Kashmir Quota : Letter from Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra, Mumbai.
(3) SC/ST : Attested copy of caste certificate issued by Govt. of Maharashtra.
(4) DT/NT/OBC : Attested photocopy of caste certificate issued by Govt. of Maharashtra, and Creamy Layer free certificate if applicant claims reservation under NT(C), NT (D) and OBC.
Only Maharashtra domicile candidates are eligible for SC, ST, DT, NT and OBC categories. Selected candidates who cannot submit these documents will not be admitted. Candidates of reserved categories recognized by states other than Maharashtra will not be considered for these reserved seats.
ADMISSION PROCEDURE :
The entrance examination results will be declared in 1st week of April. Top ranking students in various categories will be asked to submit required documents. Selected students will be given provisional admission in first week of June. The admission will be confirmed only after the student submits his final year results.
ABOUT EXAMINATION :
The test will be of 2 hours with approximately equal weightage to the following 4 topics.

** For each correct answer +1 will be awarded, -1/3 mark for each wrong one and 0 for every unattempted question.
** Choose the appropriate choice on the answersheet by filling the circle with pencil only.
** Do not use pen under any circumstances.
** Do not spend large amount of time trying to answer a question.
** You may go to next question as time is limited.
** Last page of the question paper should be used for rough work.
** No other page should be used for this purpose.
** The question paper should be returned with the answer sheet.
