Entrance Exam :

Admission Criteria for B.Tech. (Regular), M.Tech. (Regular) and M.Arch. (Regular) for Admission 2016 – 2017.

The admission to B.Tech (Regular), courses shall be done with:
Criteria I: 50% of the seats allotted to candidates through Uni-GAUGE EMeD Exam scores (Online Entrance Examination conducted by M/S ERA Foundation on behalf of Consortium of Deemed to be Universities) and normalized + 2 Marks in which, the merit list is drawn with the weightage for Uni-GAUGE EMeD Exam scores for 50% and normalized +2 marks for 50%.

Criteria II: 40% of the seats allotted to candidates who have not appeared for Uni-GAUGE EMeD Exam (Online Entrance Examination). The admission will be based on the normalized +2 marks in which, a merit list will be prepared considering the first rank of PMU applicant and aggregate mark of all other student which is normalized with reference to that of the first rank student.

Criteria III: 10% through NRI / PIO / Foreign Nationals category.
(Any unfilled seat in category I and III will be treated as lapsed seats and will be filled up by Periyar Maniammai University through Criteria II).

For M. Tech (Regular) and M. Arch (Regular)
The admission to M.Tech (Regular) and M. Arch (Regular) courses shall be done with:
Criteria I: 50% of the seats shall be based on Uni-GAUAGE EMeD PG Exam scores and the marks obtained in the Qualifying examination as per the Rules and Regulations of Statutory Bodies.

Criteria II: 50% of the seats shall be based on the normalized marks obtained in the Qualifying examination as per the Rules and Regulations of Statutory Bodies.

Reservation : As per the norms of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Govt. of India.

1. Eligibility Criteria for Admission :
B.Arch.
1.1. 50 % aggregate marks in 10+2 with Mathematics as compulsory subject or 10+3 Diploma or IB Diploma with 40% marks in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).
1.2. Candidates seeking admissions to B.Arch should take only NATA Examination. They
need not take Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 Entrance Examination.
1.3 Candidates should submit their filled in PMU admission applications along with an attested copy of the NATA score card.

2. Eligibility Criteria for Admission :
B.Tech.
2.1 A pass in 10+2 examination with Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects i.e Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology. Obtained at least 45 % Marks (40% in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together.
2.2 For B.Tech – Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry and Biology are also eligible.
Candidates seeking admission should appear for the Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 Entrance
Examination.

3. Other State Candidates :
3.1 Candidates from states other than Tamil Nadu are also eligible for admission to B.Arch / B.Tech. degree programmes.
3.2 They should furnish the Nativity Certificate and Migration certificates issued by the competent authority.

4. NRI / PIO / Foreign National Candidates :
Candidates studying in India or abroad may apply for admissions under NRI /PIO / Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries / Foreign National Category, adhering to the rules and regulations of the Government of India with the following eligibility criteria.
4.1 Pass in Higher Secondary Examination or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: “Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Computer Science / Biology or equivalent”
4.2 There is no entrance test for NRI / PIO / Children of Indian Workers in Gulf countries/ Foreign National Category.
4.3 Applicants for Admissions under NRI quota shall not have completed 21 years of age as on the 1st July of the respective academic year.
NRI financially supporting the candidates must be blood relation such as his/her Father, Mother, Sister, Brother, Uncle, (Father’s brother or Mother’s brother) and Aunt (Mother’s Sister of Father’s Sister) only, residing abroad. The candidates should furnish the following documents at the time of Admission for Documents please see page No.23.

5. Reservation: As per the norms of Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India & UGC Norms COE & NCTE.
