XLRI Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the eligibility criteria for taking XAT 2016?
** Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2016 may also apply.

** All Indian candidates must appear for XAT 2016. However, NRI and Foreign candidates may apply through GMAT score (except Dubai and Kathmandu wherein candidates also have an option of appearing for XAT 2016).

2. I am in the final year of my graduation, what percentage should I fill in the form?
** Please enter the aggregate percentage of marks obtained till the time of filling the form.

3. By Registering and paying for XAT 2016, am I eligible for XLRI and other Associate Member Institutes?
** Candidates interested in XLRI needs to apply for the programmes of their choice, please refer to Step No 4 of the registration procedure.

** For XAT Associate Member Institutes (refer XAT Associate Institutes website)
** XAT is a common test for admission into academic programmes of XLRI.

4. What is the eligibility criteria for XLRI programme(s)?

5. Can I change my test city?
** The XAT test city can be changed only once till 20th November 2015.

6. When can I check & confirm my photo and signature before admit card is generated?
** On completion of registration and making the necessary payment you can download the confirmation page to check your photograph and signature.

7. When shall I receive the XAT 2016 Admit Card?
** You can download your admit card from our website xatonline.net.in any time during December 20, 2015 and December 31, 2015. XAT office will not be sending admit cards to the candidates.

8. What is the duration of the test?
** The duration of the test will be of three and a half hours (3 ½) i.e. from 10:00am to 01:30pm on Sunday, January 3, 2016.

9. What is the kind of Test and what are the different components?
** XAT 2016 will be on the similar pattern like last few years. It will have four sections (i) Verbal and Logical Ability (ii) Decision Making (iii) Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation (iv) General Knowledge. The marks of General Knowledge will not be used for determining the percentile and cut off at first stage of selection.

10. When are XAT 2016 results out?
** Results will be available on the website by 31st January 2016.

11. When can I check & confirm if XAT Office has received my Draft and the XAT confirmation page?
** Candidates will receive a message in the login page only after XLRI receives the draft.

12. I have registered for XAT 2016 by making an online payment through credit card. Unfortunately after the payment I am unable to view the final confirmation and the system was not able to give the reference No. & a message is displayed as “PAGE EXPIRED”, although the bank has confirmed the debit.

** Candidate will receive a message for successful payment. If the message not received within 24-48 hours, please send a mail to admissions@xatonline.net.in. Do not attempt to make a second payment immediately.

13. I have paid twice using online payment option. What should I do?
** Kindly send an email  with your XAT ID, date of payment, card holders name and the credit/debit card details (first four & last four digits and card expiry date).

14. What do I do if I am unable to make the payment online?
** Online payments involve multiple agencies and there are chances that your payment is timed out or declined. If you encounter any such problems, we suggest you make the payment by Cash Mode through any branch of IDBI Bank. Please read through the Registration Process

15. How do I ask a question in the blog?
** To ask a question on the blog, you must login using your XAT-2016 ID and password. Once logged in, select to whom you want to address the question i.e. XLRI Students, Admissions Office and Applicants and post your question in the space provided.

16. I have done 5 years integrated course, so how will I enter my percentage?
** Candidates who have done 5 years integrated course can fill up the same percentage as graduation and pg.

17. How do I calculate the aggregate marks for CBSE /SSC. Is it the best 5 or all the subjects.
** The candidate should take the aggregate of all the subjects for 10th.

18. Does internship/Articleship counted as work experience?
** These are not counted as work experience

19. Does the work experience before Graduation is counted?
** No, it is not counted as work experience.

20. I have less than 50% in graduation, am I eligible to apply for XLRI ?
** Yes, you are eligible to apply for XLRI .

21. I am in the final year of my graduation, am I eligible to register for XLRI?
** Yes, you are eligible for admission to XLRI. You need to complete your final year examination by June 10, 2016.

22. How is past academic performance considered in the selection process?
** XLRI does not have any cut off based on any of the following X, XII, graduation marks. The evaluation of candidates’ academic competence will be evaluated holistically by XLRI based on candidates’ performance in interview, group discussion and XAT written test.

23. Is X Board or XII Board scores used in the preparation of XLRI’s merit list?
** No, it is not considered.

24. What are the XLRI registration charges?
** (Please refer to point No. 9 of Registration Procedure)

25. How can I download the REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION PAGE ?
** You can log in to xatonline.net.in to download the confirmation page.

26. I have forgotten my XAT password, could you help!
** Please go to the XAT Log in page and click on ‘Forgot Password’.
