IIST Undergraduate Admission 2015 Counselling on 11th and 12th July 2015
3rd July 2015 : The following Rank lists for IIST Undergraduate Admission Published.

The Admission Counselling will be held in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata.

During counseling, the candidates will be called in the order of their IIST Ranks. Your eligibility and original documents will be verified and if found OK, you will give your choice(s) of branch and the order of preference. You will be allotted a ‘CONFIRMED SEAT’ for a branch where seats are available and ‘WAIT-LIST’ number (upto a maximum of 3 times the number of available seats in each category) for a branch where seats are already filled. Confirmed seat holders should deposit all their original certificates.

The first 2000 candidates from GENERAL RANK LIST are eligible for couselling at any of the four centres of their choice on Saturday, 11th July 2015 , 8:00 A.M.

All candidates from OBC(NCL), SC, ST and PD Rank Lists are eligible for counselling at any of the four centres of their choice on Sunday, 12th July 2015, 8:00 A.M.

Online Registration for counselling will be enabled from 7th July 2015 03:00 PM upto 10th July 2015 05:00 PM

Download of Counselling Admit Card for counselling will be enabled from 9th July 2015 10:00 AM onwards

To attend the counselling, candidates shall register online, in our admission website (admission.iist.ac.in) by giving their choice of Counselling Center and download COUNSELLING ADMIT CARD . Candidates should produce COUNSELLNG ADMIT CARD downloaded from this website to attend IIST Undergraduate Admission 2015 Counselling.

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL PERSONS ACCOMPANYING THE CANDIDATE SHOULD CARRY A VALID PHOTO IDENTITY CARD WITHOUT WHICH THEY WILL NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER THE COUNSELLING PREMISES.

The counselling of IIST Undergraduate Admission 2015 will be conducted at four counselling centres : Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata.

The following seat matrix shows the availability of seats for different programmes at IIST (category-wise).

Please note the following:
1. The IIST Undergraduate Admission 2015 counselling will be held at four counselling centres: Ahmedabad, Bangalore, New Delhi and Kolkata on 11thJuly 2015(GENERAL) and 12thJuly 2015(SC/ ST / OBC(NCL)/PD ).

2. The number of candidates called for IIST Undergraduate Admission 2015 counselling is more than the actual available seats. An invitation to IIST Undergraduate Admission 2015 counselling, therefore, does not guarantee a seat to any candidate for any academic programme.

3. Actual admission will be strictly based on attending counselling in person and verification of documents.

4. The Counselling on 11th July 2015 based on GENERAL RANK LIST, is for filling the unreserved seats. During this counselling , all candidates in this rank list will be considered as GENERAL category, even if they belong to SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PDcategories.

5. During counseling, the candidates will be asked to give their preferences for the branch of study. Confirmed seats will be allotted to candidates based on their preference and seat availability. Sufficient number of wait-lists will also be allotted to fill the vacancies arising due to forfeiture of seats in future. When the wait-listed candidates are allotted a confirmed seat, they should report to any of the counseling centres or IIST Trivandrum to submit all the original documents. The wait-list seat allotment will be carried out as per following schedule:

Report on : 21st July 2015, 4:00 pm (at any counseling centre or IIST)
WL Seat update-2 Allotment : 21stJuly 2015
Report on : 24th July 2015, 4:00 pm (at any counseling centre or IIST)
WL Seat update-3 Allotment : 25th July 2015
Report on : 28th July 2015, 4:00 pm (at any counseling centre or IIST)
WL Seat update-4 Allotment : 29th July 2015
Report on : 1st Aug 2015, 4:00 pm (at IIST, Thiruvananthapuram only)
Date of Joining at IIST 1st August 2015 (Saturday)
Classes commence on 3rd August 2015 (Mon)

SPOT ADMISSION
Venue: IIST, Thiruvananthapuram Announcement about the vacant seats(if any) : 4th Aug 2015
Tentative date for spot admission: 10th Aug. 2015, at 11:00 a.m

Eligibility for counselling:
** Citizenship
The candidate has to be an Indian citizen.
** Date of Birth
Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC(NCL) categories should be born on or after 1st October 1990, while those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories should be born on or after 1st October 1985.
** Minimum Percentage of Marks in 10 + 2 or equivalent examination
Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC(NCL) categories must have at least 70% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) papers and those belonging to SC, ST and PD categories must have at least 60%.

Counselling date:
11th July 2015 (Saturday) – Counselling for GENERAL category candidates.
12th July 2015 (Sunday) – Counselling for SC, ST, OBC(NCL) and all PD category candidates.

Reporting Time: 8.00 AM
Reporting Counter will be closed by 9.30 AM.

Documents to be submitted at the time of Counselling:
1. Original Pass Certificate and Mark list of 10th standard that shows age and marks for the eligibility.
2. Original Mark list and Pass Certificate of 12th standard.
3. Candidates belonging to SC/ST categories will be required to produce the original caste/ tribe certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format format attached]. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted.
4. The benefit of PD reservation would be given only to those who have at least 40% physical impairment. Such candidates are required to produce original certificate issued by the District Medical Board/Competent Authority.
5. The OBC(NCL) candidates seeking the benefits of reservation will be required to produce the original caste certificate issued on or after 1st June, 2014 by a competent authority in the prescribed format [format attached]. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted.
6. The OBC(NCL) candidates should produce necessary documents to prove their non-creamy layer status. They must also download “Declaration regarding non-creamy layer status of parents in respect of OBC Candidates” and bring the filled up form duly signed to the venue of counselling.

General Instructions:
** Candidates are advised to reach the counselling centres on the previous day itself to avoid late arrival at the counselling venue.
** Candidates arriving after the scheduled reporting time will not be considered for Counselling.
** Each candidate must be accompanied by at least one parent. Personal appearance of the candidate and parent is absolutely essential for counselling.
** Candidates are required to submit the surety bond (see page 3 of the IIST Undergraduate Admission Brochure for more details) at the time of joining the institute. The printed bond format will be given to the candidates at the time of counselling.
** Accommodation and transportation should be arranged by the candidates themselves.
