Presidency University Kolkata Undergraduate Admission for the academic session 2015–16

Notification :
The undergraduate admission procedure for the three year B.A./B.Sc. (Honours) Course of  Presidency University for the academic session 2015–16 will be conducted by the West Bngal  Joint Entrance examinations board (WBJEEB).

Candidates who have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2 system) conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal, or an equivalent examination, not before 2014, are eligible to apply. The candidates should have passed any of the aforementioned examinations, with at least five recognised subjects (full marks not less than 100), including English language. For candidates with International ‘A’ level or International Baccalaureate qualifications, at least three subjects at the IGCSE level and three subjects at the ‘A’ level are required, with English in either of the two levels.

Admission Procedure :
Each candidate may apply for a maximum of three Honours subjects, subject to the Eligibility  Criteria outlined in Table 1 below. The admission procedure for all subjects, except Hindi  (Honours), will follow the schedule as outlined in Table 2. In Group A, applicants for admission  to Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics Honours courses will have to sit for the  Common test (PCM) as well as tests for the respective subjects. Applicants for Geology will sit only for the Common test (PCM), while applicants for Geography and Statistics will need to sit only for a subject test. Applicants for the English Honours course will sit for the English–I online test in the slot S2–S4, and an additional written test later (English—2, T2).

Admission forms will be available online from 16 to 26 June 2015.

The Admission test (wherever applicable) will be held on Sunday 12 July 2015, at various locations in West Bengal, Assam and Tripura. The exact locations of centres will be mentioned in the downloadable admit cards.

The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of a combination of the Aggregae marks (of the top four subjects, excluding Environmental Science/Education), obtained at the +2 level examination and the marks obtained in the respective admission tests (except in the case of Hindi). Candidates who have qualified for more than one subject will be allowed to express their choice during the counselling session on the date of admission.

The admission of SC/ST/OBC—A/B candidates will follow the reservation policies of West Bengal State Higher Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Act, 2013 and West Bengal State Higher Education Institutions (Reservation in Admission) Rules, 2014.

1. “Aggregate” implies the sum of the marks obtained in the best four subjects at the last exmination,
excluding Environmental Education.

2. MCQ tests will be conducted online using computers. Some MCQ tests may be conducted on OMR if needed.

Candidates may register using this link, post which they will be provided a user-id and password through cell phone and e-mail. This is the first stage of application process. Using these credentials they will have to complete their application on the same link after making due payment through e-challan at any branch of Allahabad Bank or through Debit / Credit Card on or after 19th June, 2015 till 27th June,2015.
