How to get application for NIMCET-2015 test and what is the cost of application?
Ans. 2
Applications are not sold.
Submission of application is made online.
However, applicants after filling the application online, have to take print of generated application and send along with e-reciept of Payment fee, other relevant document by speed post / registered post to Secretary, NIMCET-2015, National Institute of Technology Agartala, Jirania, Tripura (West) -799046

What is online submission of application? Is it necessary to send any hard copy of application form by post to the Secretary, NIMCET-2015 office?
Ans. 3
Eligible candidates are required to fill-in web enabled on-line application forms from any place of their convenience.
Candidates are required to create login with username and password for themselves by registering themselves in the website nimcet2015.nita.ac.in between 16-02-2015 to 06-04-2015.
Yes, it is necessary to send the generated application to the Secreatary, NIMCET-2015 office after putting signature in each page at the bottom and also in the space provided for in the Declaration part (3rd page). Applications without signature under declaration are considered as incomplete.
NIMCET-2015 is not responsible for any postal delays and hence candidates are advised to post the filled-in application with all necessary documents and e-reciept of Application Fee well in advance before the last date i.e., 20-4-2015.
Q. 4 What is the mode of paying any application fee or processing fee?
Ans. 4
The processing Fee for NIMCET-2015 test and counselling for admission to the MCA programme is Rs.1800 /- for OPEN/OBC category and Rs. 900/- for SC/ST category candidates.
Candidates have to pay through NIMCET website for an appropriate amount relevant to their category. For details of payment options, please refer to section 5.0 of the Information Brochure

What are the other documents to be enclosed with hard-copy of online application form.
Ans. 5 a
Generated Application Form signed at the bottom of each page and at the Signature place of the Declaration part, should be sent with following enclosures.
(i) original e-reciept of Application fee of value (a) Rs. 1800/- for Open/OBC, or (b) Rs.900/- for SC/ST
(ii) Mark sheets of (a) SSC or 10th Class or equivalent and (b) Qualifying Degree means BSc / BSc(Hons) / BCA/ BIT of minimum 3 years duration or BE/BTech/equivalent degree in engineering
(iii) If applicable, Category Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format given in Annexure I and II of the brochure.
(iv) If applicable, Persons with Disabilities Certificate issued by Competent authority in the prescribed format given in Annexure III of the brochure.
(v)Course completion certificate issued by head of the institution in case of candidates appearing for their final examination in the academic year 2014-15.

After uploading files containing scanned copies of photo and of my signature, the next page is not appearing on the screen. Is there any problem with software?

Check whether the size of the file containing scanned copy of photo is less than 30 KB
Also Check whether the size of the file containing scanned copy of signature is less than 10 KB
If any one exceeds the size, then reduce it.
Q 6 To which address, application with documents are to be posted?

Applications should reach by speed-post or registered-post on or before 5pm on 20thApril, 2015

Applications received after due date and time will not be considered.
Even after the successful submission of Online Application within due date, if the hard-copy of generated application reaches without the requisite fee, application form will be treated as cancelled.

What do you mean by qualifying degree?

Qualifying Degree means BSc / BSc(Hons)/ BCA/ BIT of minimum 3 years duration or BE/BTech/equivalent degree in engineering

I have studied /studying degree offered by some open university, Am I eligible?
Ans 8
Students who have completed/completing degree BSc / BSc(Hons)/BCA/ BIT of 3 years from Open Universities are also eligible to apply provided their programme is approved by UGC / AICTE and Distance Education Council (DEC) of Govt. of India.

I am studying final year/semester of Qualifying degree.Whether am I eligible?

Candidates who are appearing for final year/semester of BSc / BSc(Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum 3 years or BE/BTech in the academic year 2014-15 are eligible to apply also for NIMCET-2015.
Such candidates shall have to furnish the proof (in the form of a certificate issued by the head of institution where the candidate has studied) that he/she is appearing for the examinations during the academic year 2014-15 and can submit the proof of fulfilling the eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2015 preferably at the time of Counseling/Admission but not later than 15th September, 2015, failing which their admission is liable to be cancelled by the respective NITs. NIMCET-2015 will not reserve a seat to a candidate due to any reason claimed for not fulfilling the eligibility criteria including the delay in publishing the results by the concerned University/institute.

What is the procedure to compute percentage of marks either at 10+2 or at qualifying degree
Ans.10
The percentages of marks in qualifying degree are to be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in all the subjects studied in all the years including languages, optional and additional subjects studied, if any. The aggregate of all the subjects in all the years computed using this method of calculation alone be considered by NIMCET-2015 for deciding eligibility to appear for the test.

I have not studied Mathematics at 12th Class or at 11th Class. But I have passed/am appearing for the mentioned qualifying degree (as stated in section 2.0 of NIMCET-2015 Information Brochure).Whether am I eligible.

I have passed/ I am appearing final examination of qualifying degree (as stated in eligibility criteria of NIMCET-2015 brochure), but I have not studied Mathematics either at 10+1 level or 10 +2 level.Now, I wish to appear for examination in Mathematicssubject of 12th Class.Will you consider my application for NIMCET-2015 ?.

Applications of those candidates who have not studied Mathematics at 10+1 or 10+2 level will also be considered provided that they areIndian Nationalssecuring at least 60% marks in aggregate or 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale (55% marks or 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale in case of SC, ST) in
(i) BSc / BSc (Hons) / BCA / BIT of minimum three years full-time*;

(ii) BE / BTech or equivalent ;

I have satisfied all what you mentioned in eligibility criteria, except that I have passed my 12th Class less than 60%. Am I eligible to appear for NIMCET-2015.

Yes. You are eligible. Percentage of marks either at X Class or at 12th Class will be not looked at. But percentage of marks at Qualifying Degree alone is looked into while permitting a candidate to appear for NIMCET-2015 test.

My category is OPEN/OBC and I have satisfied all what you mentioned in eligibility criteria, except that I have passed my qualifying degree by securing marks less than 60%.Am I eligible to appear for NIMCET-2015.

Not eligible.
For any OPEN/OBC candidate, one must have a minimum of 60% at qualifying degree, you are not eligible.Whereas for SC/ST candidates, 55% marks in aggregate or 6.0 CGPA is minimum marks required to become eligible to appear for NIMCET-2015 test.

Where do I get proforma for Caste Certificate/ PD certificate?

OBC candidates will have to satisfy both the caste and creamy layer requirements detailed on the following National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) website:
(i) ncbc.nic.in/backward-classes/index.html
(ii) ncbc.nic.in/Centrallistifobc.html
(iii) ncbc.nic.in/creamylayer.html
Proforma for OBC certificate along with the undertaking given in Annexure I is to be submitted.
SC/ST category candidates and Persons with Disabilities (PD) candidates should use the respective Pro-forma given in Annexure II and III.

Whether I have to enclose original Caste certificate or its Xerox/photocopy
Ans.15
Photo copy of certificates are enough to enclose with the application.However, you should bring all original certificates for verification at the time of counseling.
I have not attached the OBC certificate with application form and I belong to that category. I resend the application form with OBC certificate by post.
What is the benefit of being obc category in counseling?
I got 68% in state board and scored 54 marks (OBC) in jeemain 2015. Can I get admission on nit?
