PROVISIONAL SELECTION LIST FOR ADMISSION INTO DIPLOMA COURSES IN THE POLYTECHNICS OF ASSAM FOR THE SESSION 2015-16

1. The candidates who have secured marks mentioned below in the Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) -2015 held on 10th May 2015 are to appear in the Interview as per programme given for respective categories for final selection for admission, subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility conditions in the Polytechnics of Assam.

2. Candidates seeking admission will have to appear before an admission-cum-interview board for final selection on the date and time shown against the Category Wise result list given below at the premises of Girls’ Polytechnic, Bamunimaidan, Guwahati. All candidates must bring with them.

(i)Part-B of the Form duly and properly filled in, (ii) Original Mark sheets, (iii) three copies of recent passport size photographs, and (iv) all the relevant Certificates including Admit Card of Polytechnic Admission Test -2015 for scrutiny, by the interview board. All the attested copies of documents are to be signed by the candidates on the front side of the documents.

3. Candidates once admitted in one Polytechnic shall not be considered for admission in another Polytechnic.

4. The Polytechnic Admission Test-2015 merit list under different reserved categories has been prepared on the basis of the information furnished by the candidates in the Online Application form. The candidates selected under various categories of the reservation should come for interview only.If they possess eligibility certificate issued by the competent authority for the relevant category as prescribed in the Information Brochure.

5. The institution and the branch will be decided on the basis of merit and category of the Polytechnic Admission Test-2015, preference of the candidates and availability of seats in the Polytechnics at the time of interview. The candidates finally selected will have to get admitted on the same date of the interview on payment of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two hundred) only as a token and the remaining fees will be collected at the time of reporting in the institutions.

6. Candidates of different reserved categories whose roll nos. are in the merit list of reserved category are also placed in the General Merit list in the respective positions.

7. Candidates belonging to the reserved categories whose roll nos. appeared in the General Merit list may also report in the date for the General category candidates.

8. Candidates can take admission once only either as General Category or as Reserve Category. Candidate once taken admission in any one category will not be allowed to take admission in any other category.

9. Admitted candidates are to report to admitted Institution by 25/06/2015 positively, failing which his/her seat will be forfeited.

10. Candidates in the waiting lists will be admitted only if vacancy arises after admission from Merit List. However, if vacancy arises after first Counselling then it will be filled up against category-wise vacancy in subsequent counselling (if any).

Note:
(i) For admission into Diploma courses the candidates must pass the H.S.L.C. or its equivalent examination with Mathematics and Science as compulsory subject with:
(a) 40% (average) marks in Mathematics and Science for General candidates.
(b) 35% (average) marks in Mathematics and Science for SC candidates.
(c) 33% (average) marks in Mathematics and Science for ST candidates.

(ii) Final position of the candidates having same marks in PAT-2015 will be decided at the time of interview as follows :
a) Initially on the basis of total marks secured in Science and Mathematics of Qualifying examination.
b) in the event of tally, on the basis of marks secured in English of qualifying examination.
c) In the event of tally again, on the basis of aggregate marks of the qualifying examination.
d) And if again there is a tally, then the seat will be filled up by lottery among those candidates by the Chairman of the counselling Committee in presence of the candidates.

11. Please note: If a candidate is absent on the day of Counseling, he/she will not be considered in the subsequent Counseling (if any) under any circumstances and such requests will not be entertained at the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam

12. All candidates will have to pay Rs. 300/- (Rupees three hundred) only as counselling charge at the time of counselling.

N.B.: At the time of Admission, the Original 10thAdmit Card and Mark sheet will be retained at the respective Institute where the student takes admission for six months. Candidates may take the mark sheet temporarily from the Principal of the admitted college by filling a declaration Form and signing a joint undertaking by the candidate and his/her parent/guardian. In case the document is not returned within the permitted period (7 days) the seat of the candidate will be forfeited and the seat will be filled up by Candidates in the Waiting list in the next allotment.
