GMCH Combined Entrance Test

GMCH Combined Entrance Test (GCET-2024) is conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital Chandigarh. Application form is available online only on GMCH Website. Candidate has to fill this online application form and submit it online once completed. All candidates have to submit application fee online only at the time of filling online Part-I of application form. Fee cannot be deposited in any other form such as cheque, demand draft etc. Last Date for submission of Application is 10th July 2024.

Scheme Of Examination for GCET

Scheme of examination shall be as under:
1. The medium of GCET-2024 will be English only.
2. Paper will consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
3. Each question will carry 1 (one) mark (maximum marks 100)
4. There will be no negative marking.
5. For all the courses, the duration of the entrance test will be of two hours.
6. Minimum qualifying marks in GCET-2024 for inclusion in the list of successful candidates are as below:
General/General PwD category: not less than 45%
SC/SC PwD category: not less than 40%

7. For 10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate for all courses
a) Syllabus will be of 10+2 standard equivalent to AISSCE/ CBSE/ ICSE/ SSCE/ HSCE.

8. For 10+2 (Vocational stream) or Diploma passed candidates in respective discipline

Application Fee of GMCH Combined Entrance Test

Rs. 2000/- (General + Other Categories) + Bank charges (if any)
Rs. 1000/- (SC/PwD Category) + Bank charges (if any)
The application fee, once paid, shall not be refunded.

How to Apply for GCET?

1. Online Application Form will be available in two parts:
Part-I: To be filled for appearing in GCET-2024
Part-II: To be filled by candidates who qualify GCET – 2024 for appearing in counseling for admission in various courses. For those candidates who have qualified the GCET-2024 entrance examination, it shall be mandatory to fill-up Part- II of application form and upload the certificates/ documents listed.

2. Candidate has to fill online application form available at GMCH website.
3. Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions, published in the newspapers / prospectus carefully and then fill in the online application form.

4. Before applying for any course, the candidate should ensure that he/she fulfill all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite educational qualifications from recognized University/Institute. GMCH, Chandigarh can reject the application of candidate at any stage of admission process, in case the candidate is not fulfilling the requisite criteria.

5. 10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate will be eligible for all B.Sc. courses. Candidate can choose discipline/course at the time of counseling on the basis of merit obtained in the Entrance Test (GCET-2024) subject to the availability of the seats in the respective course. He/She/Others should choose option “10+2” as a subject for taking GCET at the time of filling Part-I of application.

6. Candidate who has already completed diploma course after passing 10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology) will also be eligible for all B.Sc. courses provided he/she/others chooses option “10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology)” as a subject for taking GCET at the time of filling Part-I of application.

7. Candidate who has already completed diploma course after passing 10+2 (Medical Group i.e., Physics, Chemistry & Biology) will be eligible for admission in the B.Sc. course related to the subject of his/her diploma course only if he/she/others choose option to take GCET in the subject of his/her diploma course at the time of filling Part-I of application.

8. Candidate who possesses Vocational qualification will be considered for admission in the B.Sc. course related to the subject of his/her vocational course only. He/She/Others should choose option to take GCET related to subject of his/her vocational qualification at the time of filling Part-I of application.

9. Candidate who has obtained Diploma course qualification after 10th standard will be considered for admission in the B.Sc. course related to the subject of his/her diploma course only. He/She/Others should choose option to take GCET in the subject of his/her Diploma course at the time of filling Part-I of application.

10. A person in regular employment with UT Health Department/Department of Medical Education and Research and has completed service of Five (05) or more years in the concerned discipline in the UT Health Department/Department of Medical Education and Research shall be eligible as in-service candidate. He/She/Others will be eligible for admission in the B.Sc. course related to the subject of their experience only.

11. In-service candidate must submit NOC from the employer at the time of submission of application only failing which their application will be rejected.
12. To be eligible for UT Pool SC Category, the SC certificate must be issued from the competent authority of U.T. Chandigarh.
13. To be eligible for PwD category, only certificate issued by GMCH, Chandigarh will be acceptable.
14. No addition/change of category of reservation will be allowed once form has been submitted online.
15. Application fee must be paid online. Candidates must note that no other mode of payment of application fee like- Cash, Cheque, Money Order, etc. will be accepted under any circumstances.
16. In case of any discrepancy in the fee amount and application id, application is liable to be rejected.
17. All candidates who submit completed application along with correct application fee online by due date and time will be allowed to appear in the entrance test: GCET- 2024.
18. Mere appearing in the entrance test doesn’t make a candidate eligible for admission to the course. It will be subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria laid down for various pools/categories/courses.
19. For determining the eligibility for various pools/categories/courses, candidates who qualify in GCET-2024 have to fill the part-II of online application after declaration of the result of GCET-2024.
20. Only those candidates who fulfill the various eligibility criteria after scrutiny of part-II of application and attached certificates/documents will be eligible to appear for counseling.
21. The candidates are not required to submit hard copies of submitted online application form in Govt. Medical College Hospital, Sector-32, Chandigarh before scrutiny/ counseling.

Required Documents for GCET

a) Matriculation certificate showing the date of birth or birth certificate issued by Govt. Authority.
b) Passing certificate of 10+2 or other qualifying examination.
c) Detailed marks sheet of 10+2 or other qualifying examination.
d) Detailed marks sheet of vocational course/Diploma course/other qualifying examination.
e) Certificate from Principal of School/ College for establishing eligibility for UT Chandigarh Pool.
f) Reserved category certificate, if applicable
g) NOC from the employer in case of In-service candidate
h) Disability certificate as applicable
i) Any other document as applicable
