ICMR NIN-Common Entrance Test
N-CET is an All-India Common Entrance Test and counseling for admission into the M.Sc. (Applied Nutrition) and M.Sc. (Sports Nutrition) Courses conducted by ICMR- National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad, Telangana State. ICMR-NIN, in association with APT-online or other agency, will conduct computer based test (online examination) at multi- centres across India. N-CET exam will be computer-based and the candidate is required to answer the MCQs on the system allotted to them in their respective exam center. Last Date for submission of application form is 20th May 2024.
Pattern Of Entrance Test for N-CET
The candidates need to appear for the entrance test, which will be based on the multiple-choice questions (MCQs) format. The Entrance Test will be for 100 marks. The test will cover the following four subjects, and the marks will be allotted as shown below.

** Negative marks are applicable. 1/3rd (0.33) mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer i.e., for every three wrong answers, one mark will be deducted. A merit list shall be prepared based on marks obtained (after deduction of negative marks) in the Entrance Test.
** In case of a tie of marks in the Entrance Test, the total percentage of the marks in the qualifying examination (up to two decimal places) will be taken into consideration for fixing the merit of candidates.
** If the entrance test marks and the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination are equal, the age of the candidate will be taken into consideration, and older candidates will be placed higher in the merit list.
How to Apply for N-CET?
** For New Applicant, click on NEW USER button to register with specific details.
** After clicking on NEW USER button, the following page will appear. Enter Applicant Name(as in Degree Certificate), Social Status, Mobile Number, eMailID, Educational Qualification, Applying For.
** Then clicking on submit button, shows popup as Are you sure, want to Submit the Details? Click on OK button.
** After clicking of OK button, pop up shows as Your Registration Successfully Done. Please check your mail for Registration ID and password. Then clicking on OK button, Registration ID and Password are sent to registered email ID.
** Go to Homepage, click on LOGIN button and Enter Registration ID, Password sent to Registered email ID then click on Sign In button as shown below.
** Candidate is prompted to change the default password as shown in the screen below. Enter New
** Password, Confirm Password and click on Change Password button.
** Confirmation Pop Up will appear.
** Click on OK button again popup will appear as shown below
** Press OK button to continue of application. Application redirect to Login page and enter registration ID , new password and click on Sign in button.
** After successful Sign In the following home page will appear as shown below.
Step-1:Click on Know your status option, Candidates shall select Payment Type and pay the Application Fee through Payment Gateway options given.
Step-2: Know Your Application Payment Status: Candidates can check the status of the payment through this option. (If status shows “FAIL” Candidates are requested pay the Fees again till the status shows “SUCCESS” then proceed with Step-3)
Step-3:Fill Application Form: Candidates should fill the Application form details for Address, Educational Qualification details, Marks obtained in the qualifying examination (Year/Semester wise), Particulars of Education of 7 years study up to qualifying examination (From IX Class), Exam center preferences, uploading Photo with (<50kb jpg, jpeg format) and Signature (<30 kbjpg, jpeg format).
Step-4:Application Fee Payment:
** Click on Know Your Status link for Paying Fee of Application as shown below.
** Check the details and click on Pay Now option then the following page will appear. Select Payment Type and Click on Pay Now button, the following Payment Gateway Page will appear. Select Payment Type Option, Select Acceptance check Box then click on Pay Now button as shown below.
** The PAY U Page will appear. Enter Card Details then click on Make Payment button. After successful payment the Payment Transaction Id will be generated.
** Once the payment is done successfully, the system will navigate to Payment details as shown in the screen below. Take print Application fee receipt for future references.
Step-5:Know Your Status
** Click on Know Your Status link, to check the Payment status as shown below.
** Once clicked on Know Your Status link, below screen will appear.
Step-6:Fill Application Details (only after Fee Payment)
** Click on Application Details (only after Fee Payment) link, to fill the Application Form and Finally click on Save as Draft & Preview button as shown below.
** Once Clicked on Preview button, below screen will appear to cross verify what ever entered data.
** Clicked on submit button, the following PopUp will appear as shown below.
** Clicked on Ok button, the following PopUp will appear as shown below.
** Finally Clicked on Ok button, the following PopUp will appea rand page will navigate as shown below
Required Documents for Admission of N-CET
1. Study/ Bonafide Certificates from 9th Class to qualifying (Graduation/ Degree) examination.
2. X class or equivalent certificate as proof of age.
3. Intermediate marks Memo
4. Memoranda of Marks (Year-wise or Semester-wise) of the qualifying degree examination.
5. Provisional or Original Degree Certificate of qualifying exam
6. Social Status (Caste/ Community) Certificate, if applicable for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
7. Income and Asset certificate under Economically Weaker Section (EWS).
8. Original Migration Certificate issued by the concerned university where last studied.
9. Service Certificate and No-objection Certificate from the employer, in case of employed candidates.
10. Photocopy of Aadhar Card
11. Two passport size photographs.
