AP Education Common Entrance Test

A Common Entrance Test, designated as Education Common Entrance Test-2024 (APEdCET-2024) will be conducted by the CONVENER, APEdCET-2024, Andhra University, Vijayanagar Palace, Visakhapatnam-530017 on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admission into B.Ed. Regular Course and B.Ed. Special Education in the University /Government/ Aided and /Private Colleges of Education in Andhra Pradesh for the Academic Year 2024-2025.

Eligibility For AP EdCET

Candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for AP EdCET-2024.
(i) The Candidates should be Indian Nationals.
(ii) The Candidates should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.

(iii) Educational Qualifications:
(a) Candidates should have passed/appearing for final year examinations of B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.A.(O.L)/B.Com./ B.C.A./B.B.M./B.E/B.Tech. at the time of submitting the Application for APEdCET-2024. Candidates are required to produce marks memo and pass certificate at the time of admission.

(b) Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent CGPA either in the Bachelor’s Degree i.e., B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.M/B.A(O.L) and or in the Post- Graduate Degree in relevant subject or 5 years integrated course in the relevant subject of methodology or any other qualification equivalent thereto. However the candidates belonging to all other reserved categories S.C, S.T, B.C.(A/B/C/D/E), and physically handicapped should have secured a minimum of 40% marks or equivalent CGPA in the qualifying examination.

Scheme Of Examination For APEdCET

The common entrance test will be of objective type (multiple choices) examination. Candidate has to answer 150 questions in two hours time.
Part-A: General English – 25 questions for 25 marks
Part-B: 1) General Knowledge – 15 questions for 15 marks
2) Teaching Aptitude – 10 questions for 10 marks

Part-C: Methodology: Candidate has to choose one of the following subjects. It consists of 100 questions for 100 marks.
1) Mathematics – 100 questions for 100 marks
2) Physical Sciences – 100 questions for 100 marks
(i) Physics – 50 questions for 50 marks
(ii) Chemistry – 50 questions for 50 marks
3) Biological Sciences – 100 questions for 100 marks
(i) Botany – 50 questions for 50 marks
(ii) Zoology – 50 questions for 50 marks
4) Social Studies – 100 questions for 100 marks
(i) Geography – 35 questions for 35 marks
(ii) History – 30 questions for 30 marks
(iii) Civics – 15 questions for 15 marks
(iv) Economics – 20 questions for 20 marks
5) English – 100 questions for 100 marks

Note: Part – A and Part – B are common for all the candidates irrespective of Methodology chosen in Part-C.

How to Apply Online for AP EDCET?

There are 4 Steps in filling the AP EDCET online application.
Step-1: Eligibility Criteria and Fee Payment: Candidates can make Online Fee Payment through this option.
Step-2: Know your Payment status: Candidate can check Success/Failure status of the Fee Payment
Step-3: Fill Application (Only After Fee Payment): After fee payment made by Debit/Credit/Net Banking modes, candidates should fill in the Application through this option.
Step-4: Print Application Form (Only After Submitting Application Form): After application form submission, candidate can print the submitted form.
