Notification For Research Entrance Test (RET) for Ph.D. Admissions In March- 2024 Candidates possessing the minimum qualifications with the requisite percentage of marks and academic record as mentioned below shall be eligible to appear in the Ph.D. RET. Date of Research Entrance Test is 14th March, 2024.

Eligibility of Ph.D. RET Examination

Details of Qualifying Examinations:
** Master’s degree in the concerned subject with at least 55% in the aggregate or equivalent CGPA 5.5/10 in the qualifying examination (first post-graduate degree).

** For candidates with Engineering discipline: B.Tech or an equivalent Engineering degree with at least 75% marks, or equivalent CGPA of 7.5/10, or 90 percentile or more in G.A.T.E. (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), with at least one year relevant professional experience or one published paper in a standard journal.

** There shall be a relaxation of 5% marks (or equivalent grade point average) for Scheduled Castes (SC)/Scheduled Tribes (ST)/ Physically Challenged (PC) candidates in the minimum marks (or CGPA) required in the qualifying examination.

(i) Ph.D. R.E.T. March 2024 for admission to Ph.D. Programme will be conducted in following disciplines only:
Music – (Vocal & Sitar & Tabla), Sanskrit, Hindi, Home Science, Drawing & Painting , English, Dept. of Foundation & Pedagogical Science[Education], Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Footwear, Accountancy and Law, Applied Business Economics, Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Psychology, Economics, Sociology and Political Science ,Management and Theology.

Ph.D. RET – March, 2024 Exam will be held as per the following schedule:
** Date: 14-03-2024 (Thursday)
** Venue –DEI Main Campus, Agra
** Timing – Written Test – 1:00 PM – 01:50 PM, Interviews – 2:00 PM onwards [Reporting Time for students at examination center at 12: 00 PM]

Pattern Of Ph.D. RET Examination

The written test will be of 50 minutes duration and will have the following 2 sections:
** Section A– It will cover the following –
Questions of research methodology (25 questions of 1 mark each).
** Section B – Subject related questions of specialized nature related to particular discipline of
Faculty. (25 questions of 1 mark each).
All the questions will be of multiple-choice in nature and there will be no negative marking.

** No re-evaluation of the answer books of the written test will be allowed.
** The Institute reserves the right to modify the pattern of conduct of Ph.D. RET as well as minimum qualifying marks.
** Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/Differently-abled category/EWS categories will be applicable as per norms for the Ph.D. seats of every department.

** The Ph.D. RET written exam will be of 50 marks and the interview will be of 18 marks. Final merit list will be made out of a total of 100 marks [Entrance Test, 50 Marks + Interview, 18 Marks + Innovative Test, 20 Marks + CCA, 12 Marks].The Candidates after qualifying the entrance test will be called for Innovative test in 2nd round. The date of Innovative test will be declared later.

** At the time of interview, candidates are required to produce all relevant original documents/ certificates, such as, NSS, Games & Sports, other co-curricular activities, Community service, Additional Academic Qualifications, Participation in Workshops/Seminars/Conferences, Publications in journals/proceedings, etc.

The results of Ph.D. RET March, 2024 will be declared by 10th April, 2024, and registration and fees submission will take place on 10th -30th April, 2024.
