IIAD Design Aptitude Test iDAT

IIAD’s admission process for Academic Session 2024-2025 is currently underway. Undergraduate design programmes including Communication Design, Interior Architecture & Design, Fashion Communication and Fashion Design require applicants to undergo iDAT exam as a part of entrance screening. The IIAD Design Aptitude Test (IDAT) is a written test designed to assess a candidate’s creative and visual ability, cultural awareness and logical thinking. The exam paper is a combination of visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word answers and multiple choice questions.

Courses Offered for IIAD Design Aptitude Test

Undergraduate Programme:
Our Undergraduate programme offers a total of 200 seats distributed across five courses:
** Interior Architecture & Design
** Communication Design
** Fashion Design
** Fashion Communication
** Fashion Business Management

Postgraduate Programme :
Our Postgraduate Programme offers 20 seats in the mentioned course:
** Fashion Business Management

IIAD Management Aptitude Test ( iMAT) :
** Fashion Business Management (UG & PG programmes) requires applicants to undergo two phases of screening: iMAT exam followed by a personal interview.

** The IIAD Management Aptitude Test (iMAT) is a written test designed to assess an applicant’s language, logical reasoning and creative thinking. The exam paper is a combination of multiple choice questions and writing tasks. On the completion of the iMAT written test, a personal interview will follow.

Eligibility of iDAT Design Aptitude Test

Undergraduate Programme :
** For Undergraduate Programme, Candidates with 10+2 or equivalent in any stream (Science, Commerce, Humanities/Arts) with an aggregate of minimum 50% are eligible to apply. Candidates appearing for Class XII examination in the current academic year or awaiting results may also apply. Candidates are accepted from CBSE/ISC/State/IB or any other equivalent Indian or International Higher Secondary Board.

Postgraduate Programme :
** For Postgraduate Programme, Graduates in any stream or discipline from a recognised institute/university are eligible to apply. Final year graduate students or students awaiting results may also apply.

** IIAD has a limited number of seats for each programme. This means applicants who apply early and clear the entrance test in the initial admission cycle, have a higher likelihood of being accepted for the programme of their choice.
** As soon as you complete your IIAD application form, you will receive our sample test paper, giving you ample time for preparation.

Scholarship :
** IIAD provides merit-cum-means scholarships to deserving students. All students who qualify the IIAD Entrance Test are eligible to apply for scholarship. The information about applying for a scholarship will be made available along with the offer of admission.

** Scholarship is granted on the basis of performance in the IIAD Entrance Test, the Statement of Purpose in the scholarship form as well as the financial need of the student.

Transfer To IIAD :
** We accept applications for transfer to IIAD’s design courses from students who have completed at least 1 year of design degree/diploma programme from a nationally or internationally recognized design institute. This transfer is also referred to as Lateral Entry.

** The student will be evaluated based on an interview and the portfolio of work at the previous design institute.
