Jee Main Exam Application Procedure

In order to appear in JEE (Main) and JEE (Advanced) 2016, the candidates are required to apply only online as per procedure detailed below

The online submission of particulars, uploading of scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression may be made at JEE (Main) website.

Applying Online and Submission of Application :
** The candidates should supply all the required details while filling up the online form.
** On submission of details, a Confirmation Page with Application No. shall be generated.
** Candidates are required to take printout of Confirmation Page and keep it for reference.

The application fee payment can be made:
(a) by credit/debit card, or
(b) by depositing fee in cash in the Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC bank through e-challan generated during the online filling of application form.

Instructions for Applying Online :
** Before filling up the application form the candidate should have a scanned image of his/her photograph, signature and left hand thumb impression (right hand thumb in case the candidate do not have left hand thumb or any finger if both thumbs are not there).
** These scanned images are to be uploaded during the submission of application form.
** The photograph should be colour or b/w (but clear contrast) with name of the candidate and date of taking the photograph printed on it as shown below.
** It should be without cap or goggles.
** Polaroid photos are not acceptable.
** Spectacles are allowed in photograph
** Candidates with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected.
** Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination, Seat Allocation Process and Admission.
** The information given in the first column of the following table will be asked in the Online Application form.
** The instructions to fill up the form have been given in the second column.

Select the State, your School/ College/NIOS Study Centre located from where class 12th /Qualifying Examination passed/ appearing – Not applicable for the candidates belonging to Nepal /Bhutan/Foreign/OCI/PIO

Select State mentioned on your passport – Applicable only if the candidate has passed class 12th from outside India and do not belongs to Nepal/ Bhutan /Foreign/OCI/PIO
Board Name – The candidates belonging to Nepal/Bhutan/Foreign /OCI/PIO should select other.

Year of Passing or Appearing Class 12th/ Qualifying Examination :
The candidates appearing in improvement examination of class 12th in 2016 :
a) Select the year of passing class 12th as 2015 and enter the roll number, name of the board in the first step of the application form. In the second step of application form select ‘yes’ in the column – appearing for improvement examination.
or
b) Select the year of appearing class 12th as 2016 and fill the remaining form correctly.

After declaration of result of improvement examination, there will be option on the website to provide the correct roll number of class 12 in which candidate’s result is better. The candidates passed class 12th in 2014 and appeared for improvement in 2015 in five subjects should select the year in which their performance is better.

Roll No. of Class 12th /Qualifying Examination :
The candidates appearing in class 12th Examination or improvement examination in 2016 need not to enter any roll number. At the time of downloading admit card of JEE (Main) they will have to enter the roll number of class 12th.

Note: The candidate should enter the above details correctly because some of the information in the application form will be taken from the data of concerned board.
