GMCH Combined Entrance Test :

Admission to these courses will be strictly on the basis of rank/merit obtained in GMCH Combined Entrance Test (GCET-2016) to be conducted by Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh.

Age: Minimum 17 years as on 31.12.2016

A candidate must have secured following minimum percentage of marks in the aggregate in 12th standard examination or other equivalent qualifying examination:
General category: not less than 45%
SC category: not less than 40%

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR EXAMINATION CUM ADMISSION :
i. Candidate has to fill online application form available at GMCH website
ii. Before applying, candidates are advised to go through the admission notice and the instructions carefully, published in the newspapers / prospectus and then fill in the online application form.

iii. Before applying for any course, the candidates should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility norms. The candidate should have the requisite educational qualifications from recognized University/Institute. GMCH, Chandigarh can reject the applications of candidates at any stage of admission process in case the candidate is not fulfilling the requisite criteria.

iv. Candidate has to fill only one online application form. No additional form is to be filled after declaration of result.

v. Payment of application fee:
a) Candidate should fill his/her Application form available on the GMCH website. He/she should fill up all the relevant fields in the form. No field/Column should be left blank.
After filling up application form, the candidate should take a printout of the Challan form (triplicate) and deposit the application fee on next working day in any Branch of State Bank of India.

b) Candidates should go to any Branch of State Bank of India with the fee Payment Challan duly filled in and pay the prescribed Application Fee in the “Power Jyoti” account of GMCH.

The candidates, after having deposited the application fee in the bank, must ensure that they have Triplicate Fee Payment Challan with Journal No./Challan No. given by the bank on it. They should mention this Journal/Challan number in the application form and keep this Challan form with them for future use.

c) The amount of fee to be paid is as under:-
Rs. 500/- (General Category) + Bank charges (if any)
Rs. 300/- (SC Category) + Bank charges (if any)

d) Candidates should ensure that the details to be filled in by the State Bank of India officials are filled in all three (03) copies of the challan along with the seal, Challan no. and signature of the Bank Official of the Branch.

e) Candidates must note that no other mode of payment of application fee like Demand Draft, Cheque, Money Order, etc. will be accepted under any circumstances.

GMCH, Chandigarh will not be responsible for any remittance made in any form other than the method prescribed above and such applications without requisite application fee submitted through any other mode except prescribed above are likely to be rejected.

vi. All 10+2 (Medical Group i.e. Physics, Chemistry & Biology) passed candidate will be eligible for all courses. They are not required to fill course option. Candidate can choose discipline/course at the time of counseling on the basis of merit obtained in the Entrance examination subject to the availability of the seats in the respective course.

vii. Candidates who possess vocational course qualification/in-service candidates will be considered for admission only in the course related to the subject of their vocational course/experience. They should select the relevant course from the options available in the online application form.

viii. No addition of category of reservation will be allowed once form has been submitted online.
ix. All students who have applied online will be allowed to sit in the entrance examination.

x. Entrance examination:
a) Entrance examination will be held on 07.07.2016 from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
b) Admit card can be downloaded from the GMCH website from 05.07.2016 onwards

c) In case of any difficulty in downloading admit card or any discrepancy, candidate should immediately contact either of the following officials between 9.00 am to 5.00 pm

x. Venue of Entrance Examination: The venue of entrance test will be intimated on the admit card.
xi. Candidates are required to bring their own clip boards and blue ball point pen.

xii. Candidate should report at the entrance test venue by 9.30 am
xiii. No admission into the examination hall will be allowed after 10.00 am
xiv. Result will be displayed on GMCH website on 08.07.2016 by 5.00 pm

xv. All candidates who qualify by securing minimum qualifying marks in GCET- 2016 i.e. 45% for General category and 40% for Scheduled caste category have to submit printout of online submitted application alongwith following annexure by due date i.e. UPTO 15.07.2016:
a) Copy of Admit card
b) Date of birth certificate/ 10th passing certificate
c) Passing certificate of 10+2 examination
d) Detail marks sheet of 10+2 examination
e) Result card of GCET-2016
f) Reserved category certificate issued by the competent authority
g) Character certificate
h) Migration Certificate
i) Any other document as applicable

xvi. The printout of the online submitted application form alongwith annexures in a sealed envelope, with top of the envelope clearly labelled “Application for B.Sc Course” must be submitted either personally or reach by registered post by 15/07/2016 by 5.00 pm at following address:
