JENPARH-2015 :
Instruction to candidates for JENPARH-2015, the Joint Entrance Examination for admission to i) B.H.M.S. (Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine & Surgery), ii) B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery), iii) B.U.M.S. (Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery), iv) B.Sc. Nursing (Bachelor of Nursing), v) B.P.T. (Bachelor of Physiotherapy) courses in Colleges/ Institutes in the State of West Bengal for the academic session 2015 – 2016.
Applicants seeking admission to the aforesaid course will have to appear in both Paper-I and Paper-II of EVETS-2015.
EXAMINATION AND QUESTION PATTERN :
A written test consisting of the following papers will be conducted by WBJEEB:
Paper I: Biological Sciences (100 marks)
Paper ll: Physics & Chemistry (100 marks).
Each paper will contain hundred (100) one (1) mark questions based on Higher Secondary syllabus of WBCHSE. All questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Answers are to be marked (bubbled) on OMR Answer Sheets using black /blue ball point pen.
Each question will have four answer options of which only one is correct. Each correct response will fetch 1 mark, each incorrect response will fetch (-1/4) mark, whereas no repose will fetch zero mark. Multiple responses for any question will fetch (-1/4) marks.
The questions will be printed in English following by its Bangla version.
ELIGIBILITY:
Applicant must be a Citizen of India and domicile of West Bengal.
Age: Not less than 17 years as on 31st December, 2015 for all courses.
(a) B.H.M.S. and B.P.T.: Candidates having passed/appeared/due to appear in the year 2015 in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Vernacular (or any other 5th subject) are eligible. Candidates must have individual pass marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(b) B.A.M.S.: Candidates having passed/appeared/due to appear in the year 2015 in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Vernacular (or any other 5th subject) are eligible. Candidates must have 50% (Fifty percent) aggregate marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(c) B.U.M.S: Candidates having passed/appeared/due to appear in the year 2015 in the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education with the subjects English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Vernacular (or any other 5th subject) are eligible. Candidates must have 50% (Fifty percent) aggregate marks in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates should have passed 10th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian as a subject, or clear the test of Urdu in the entrance examination conducted by the University or Board or recognized society authorized by the Government to conduct such examination.
(d) B.Sc. Nursing: Only female candidates having passed/appeared/due to appear in the year 2015 at the Higher Secondary Examination from West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or equivalent Board Examination like AISSCE / CBSE / ICSE / SSCE / HSCE or other equivalent Board examination with 50% marks (40% for SC/ST) in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English taken together and with pass marks in each subject individually are eligible.
RESIDENTIAL CRITERIA:
For admission to Govt. Colleges candidates must have been residing in the State of West Bengal for a minimum period of 10 (ten) years uninterruptedly as on 31.12.2014 or their parents must be permanent resident of West Bengal having their permanent home address in the State of West Bengal. However, candidates of states other than West Bengal may be considered for admission to non-Govt. Colleges/Institutions.
Residential certificate in this regard shall have to be produced during counseling in the proforma given in Annexure I of the Application Form from any of the competent Authorities as mentioned below. No separate supporting documents or residential certificate in any other form will be accepted. Submission of Residential Certificate in prescribed format from competent authority is mandatory.
For candidates seeking admission to Govt. Colleges, submission of Residential Certificate in prescribed format from competent authority is mandatory.
APPLICATION :
Candidates intending to appear in JENPARH-2015 shall have to apply through ONLINE (wbjeeb.in) from 21.04.2015 to 10.05.2015. The candidates can also be download the e-challan from the same link, the official website of the Board, from 21-04-2015 to 11-05-2015.
The duly filled-in e-challan needs to be submitted with Rs. 506/- in cash (Application fee: Rs. 500/-, Bank charges: Rs. 6/-) in any one of the branches of Allahabad Bank as notified in the website on all working days. The applicant may download the Information Brochure from the website.
SUBMISSION:
The Application Form should be submitted ONLINE only. There is no need to send any hard copy of the Acknowledgement receipt or any document to the board office. Details are given in Annexure.
COUNSELLING & ADMISSION :
Counselling and admission to B.A.M.S., B.H.M.S., B.U.M.S., B.P.T. and B.Sc. Nursing courses will be held after getting permission from respective apex councils of the country. Securing a rank in the merit list in the said examination does not constitute a right/guarantee in favour of the candidate for his/her admission/counselling.
All applicants who appear to be prima-facie eligible are provisionally permitted to sit for the Entrance Examination. If after scrutiny at any stage, it is found that an applicant is otherwise ineligible, his/her candidature will automatically be cancelled even if he/she has appeared at the examination and secured a position in the merit list.
It should be noted that WBJEEB does not conduct the counselling and subsequent admission to the aforesaid courses. The Board only conducts the Entrance Examination, evaluates the answer scripts and generates the merit list of the said examination. The counselling is conducted by:
(i) Central Selection Committee (AYUSH), Swasthya Bhawan, G.N. 29, Sector – V, Salt Lake, Kolkata – 700091, under the aegis of Dept. of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal conducts the counselling for admission to B.A.M.S., B.H.M.S., B.U.M.S., B.P.T. (Degree) courses.
(ii) Central Selection Committee (Nursing), W.B. Govt. College of Nursing, Kolkata, SSKM Hospital Campus, 244, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata-700020 conducts the counselling for admission to B.Sc. Nursing course.
At the time of admission a candidate shall be required to produce the original mark sheets of all the examinations passed, a document certifying his/her date of birth. (Admit Card of Madhyamik or equivalent examination), the Admit card of JENPARH-2015, Rank card of JENPARH-2015, Residential Certificate and other relevant documents (e.g. Caste certificate for reserved category candidate; PwD certificate for PwD category candidates) for the purpose of verification.
Successful candidates are advised to seek detailed information regarding counselling and admission to aforesaid course from the respective Central Selection Committee.
