ADMISSION TO B.Sc(NURSING) / P.B.B.Sc(NURSING) / M.Sc(NURSING) COURSES IN KASTURBA GANDHI NURSING COLLEGE, PUDUCHERRY.

In pursuance to the decisions of the Apex court in Islamic Academic Educational and Another Vs. State of Karnataka and others dated 14.08.2003, a Common Entrance Test is to be conducted.
Sri Balaji Vidhyapeeth – a Deemed University will be conducting entrance test for Kasturba Gandhi Nursing College for the purpose to admit students in B.Sc.(Nursing) / P.B.B.Sc.(Nursing) / M.Sc.(Nursing) Courses.
The application is meant for registering the candidate for Common Entrance Test B.Sc.(N) / P.B.B.Sc.(N) / M.Sc.(N) – 2016 conducted by SRI BALAJI VIDYAPEETH- a Deemed University for KASTURBA GANDHI NURSING COLLEGE, Puduvai- Cuddalore Main Road, Pillaiyarkuppam, Puducherry-607 403.
Eligibility for Admission :
As per pre-requisite for admission to nursing course, Candidates must have appeared in SBVDUNCET – 2016. However, mere appearance in SBVDUNCET – 2016 will not automatically qualify a candidate for admission to nursing course. For admission, the candidate should fulfil the necessary admission requirements prescribed by SRI BALAJI VIDYAPEETH – a Deemed University.
B.Sc. (NURSING) :
Candidate for admission to the first year Nursing Course should have passed the H.Sc (Academic / Vocational) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC) in any one of the following three groups combinations and should have studied English as one of the Subjects.
** Biology ( Botany & Zoology) / Physics / Chemistry
** Physics / Foundation Science / Medical Laboratory Assistant Course
** Chemistry / Foundation Science / Nursing Course
P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) :
Candidates should have qualified in Diploma in Nursing Course of 31/2 years of duration from the recognized institutions of INC & TNNMC after completion of H.Sc.(10+2) or its equivalent. The candidate should be a registered Nurse and Midwife with or without experience or PHN in the hospital/institutions after registration in State Nursing Council
M.Sc(Nursing) :
Candidate should have qualified with the degree of Basic B.Sc(Nursing) / P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) of Pondicherry University or the degree of any other University recognized as equivalent there to by the Pondicherry University.
Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 55% of aggregate marks (50% for SC/ST) in B.Sc. (Nursing)/P.B.B.Sc. (Nursing) course of minimum duration of 4 years / 2 years respectively of course study in the Indian Nursing Council recognized institution.
The candidates should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife of any State Nursing Council with one year experience after graduation as on 31stJuly, 2016.
M.Sc. Nursing course specializations
M.Sc. Nursing course is offered in the following specializations with 5 seats in each.
1. Medical and Surgical Nursing
2. Child Health Nursing
3. Community Health Nursing
4. Psychiatric Nursing
5. Obstetrics and Gynaecology Nursing
Age Limit :
B.Sc(NURSING)
The Candidate should be 17yearsof age and above on 31st December2016. No upper age limit is prescribed.
P.B.B.Sc(Nursing) / M.Sc(Nursing): No age limit is prescribed.

Candidate desirous of appearing for the Common Entrance Test (SBVUDNCET-2016) conducted by SRI BALAJI VIDYAPEETH – a deemed University should fill their application in the prescribed format and send directly by post
Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of Sri Balaji Vidyapeeth, payable at Puducherry. After processing, if found eligible, the Hall Ticket will be sent to the candidate by post.

The completed application form should reach the office before 5.00 p.m on 18.06.2016. SBV will not be responsible for postal or any other delay. Incomplete /Wrongly filled application will be summarily rejected. The application received after the due date and time will also be summarily rejected and no further correspondence in the matter will be entertained.
