Common Entrance Test :
All admissions to various UG and PG programmes of the IMU Campuses and its Affiliated Institutes will be through Common Entrance Tests (CETs).

There will be a CET common to all UG programmes. There will be another CET common to the two MBA programmes and yet another CET common to the two M.Tech programmes.
Programmes :
The following programmes are offered by the Indian Maritime University in its Campuses and Affiliated Institutes:
Undergraduate programmes
1. 4-Year B.Tech (Marine Engineering)
2. 4-Year B.Tech (Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering)
3. 3-Year B.Sc (Ship Building & Repair)
4. 3-Year B.Sc (Maritime Science)
5. 3-Year B.Sc (Nautical Science)
6. 1-Year Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Applied Nautical Science)
Postgraduate programmes
1. 2-Year MBA (Port and Shipping Management)
2. 2-Year MBA (International Transportation and Logistics Management)
3. 2-Year M.Tech (Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering)
4. 2-Year M.Tech (Dredging and Harbour Engineering)
Postgraduate Diploma programmes
1- Year PGDME: Post Graduate Diploma in Marine Engineering
Research Programmes
At present Ph.D programme is being conducted at IMU Visakhapatnam Campus.
How to Apply :
The candidates have to apply online only for appearing for the Common Entrance Test.
Application Fee for applying online for CET is Rs.1000 for General candidates and Rs.700 for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates. Application Fee has to be paid online only.
General Instructions :
** Please go through the following instructions carefully.
** The candidate shall be solely responsible for any loss or hardship caused to him due to his non-adherence to these instructions.
** The candidate is requested to visit IMU’s website periodically to keep track of new announcements and changes if any.
** This site is best viewed with screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels or higher, using Internet Explorer 9 / Mozilla Firefox 16 / Google Chrome 23 or higher.
** If you have any difficulty in filling the online application form, please send an email to cetjune2016@imu.co.in indicating the problem faced.
Note 1: For admissions to DNS Programme in the Affiliated Institutes, requirement of sponsorship from Ship Owning/ Ship Managing Company is mandatory.
Note 2: For candidates native to Andaman & Nicobar Islands or domiciled there for at least five years, separate CET for UG Programmes will be conducted by the Andaman & Nicobar Administration on behalf of IMU. Such candidates need not apply here. However, the candidates applying for MBA / M Tech Programmes should register online here.
** The Online CET will be held in a single shift on 4th June 2016, between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

** The crucial date for the application of the Age criterion shall be 01-08-2016.
Candidates shall upload the following documents at the time of Online Application Form:
a) Scanned copy of the passport size photograph.
b) Scanned copy of the signature of the candidate.
c) Scanned copy of 10th Standard Certificate or equivalent in support of Date of Birth
d) Community Certificate in respect of SC/ST candidates
** The last date for Online Registration is 13th May 2016 till 5.30 PM.
** Registration Fee payable is Rs. 700/- for candidates from SC/ST category and Rs.1,000/- for all others. It is non-refundable.
** Registration Fee shall be paid only online.
The Online CET will consist of multiple choice questions as given below:
a) CET for UG : 200 questions
b) CET for MBA : 100 questions
c) CET for M Tech : 100 questions
The multiple choice questions will be set from the following topics:
(a) CET for UG programmes – Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English, General Knowledge and Aptitude at Plus 2 level (CBSE, ISE and State Boards).
(b) CETs for PG programmes –
(i) For MBA – Quantitative ability, Data interpretation, Verbal ability and Logical reasoning.
(ii) For M.Tech – English, General Knowledge, Aptitude, Mathematics and General Engineering.
** The candidates may go through the Model Question Paper and familiarize themselves with the types and level of difficulty of the questions that are likely to be asked in the Online CET.
** IMU reserves the right to change the distribution, types, level of difficulty, etc. of the questions asked from that shown in the Model Question Paper. Please visit IMU website for further details.
** There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.
