CAT MGU Admission Test
The admissions based on CAT- MGU will be through a Centralized allotment Process. There will be separate Entrance Tests for the various academic programmes offered in the different Schools of the University.

The candidates need to register only one application(online) for opting a maximum of 4 academic programmes/ cluster of programmes based on their eligibility. A cluster of academic programmes to which admissions are made based on the same Entrance Test will be reckoned as a single option.
The candidate has to mark his/ her preference for the different specialisations within the cluster at the time of online registration. In such cases also there will be separate rank lists for the different specialized programmes within the cluster based on the score in the Entrance Test and the preference marked by the candidate at the time of registration.
If a candidate submits more than one application in CAT- MGU his/her candidature is liable to be cancelled. It is a simple and transparent process of allotment which gives the candidate opportunity to exercise the options of his/her choice conveniently in the order of preference. The allotments will be strictly based on the options exercised, the rank obtained and eligible reservations of the candidate.
Submission of online application:
The candidate should read carefully the Prospectus and the detailed instructions before submitting the online application. The method of submitting the online application is as follows : Candidates who seek admission should either visit the official portal of the University mgu.ac.in and go to the link CAT-MGU 2016 or go directly to cat.mgu.ac.in. The candidate should first create an account in the webpage by typing in the required minimum personal details and by creating a password for future login.
The password can be a combination of alphabets, numerals and special characters. It should contain at least 1 special character and 1 digit. The candidate should remember the password set by him/her and it should not be disclosed to anyone who may misuse it for tampering the options. The University will not be responsible for any such eventuality.
For General Candidates: Rs 500/- per each programme/cluster of programmes listed as a single option.
For SC/ST Candidates from Kerala: Rs 250/- per each programme/cluster of programmes listed as a single option. After remitting the fee and ensuring the correctness of the application the candidate should click the Final Submit button.
The candidate details as received by the University will be published later for verification by the applicants (See the Schedule). If required the details (except name, category and number of options) can be modified at this time.
Submission of hard copy of Application:
Applicants for all other programmes except M Ed should not send the hard copy of the application to the University. Applicants for M Ed should send the hard copy of the application along with self attested copies of degree certificate, mark lists of qualifying examination and proof for weightage points to the Director, School of Pedagogical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, PIN 686560 so s to reach the addressee on or before 16th May 2016.

** On clicking the above button the applicant will be led to the following page
** The password should be a combination of alphabets, numbers and special characters. It should contain alphabets and at least one special character and one number.
** SC/ST applicants alone are eligible for Registration Fee concession. Others should select Others as the category in the screen shown below.
Type the image verification below and submit the details. When the details are saved the following message will be displayed. Please note down the
Application Number for future use.
** The next step is uploading of a passport size photo(below 30 kb size).
When the photo is successfully uploaded the page for furnishing the remaining personal details will appear. On completing the personal details the following page for furnishing qualification details will appear. The page for qualification details will have two sections; one to be filled by the applicants for MA., M Sc., LLM, and MTTM programmes, and the other by the applicants for M Ed programmes. The applicant for one section need not furnish details for the other unless he/she wants to apply for both.
** The next step is the selection of the options of your choice (academic programmes) on preferential basis(Read Prospectus carefully for eligibility regarding each programme).
** In some cases the candidates have to select the sub options (specializations) also. The candidates can choose any number of sub-options. The sub options under one main option will be considered
only as a single option. The adding of sub-options will not require additional fee.
** Test centres also can be chosen on preferential basis. After accepting the terms and conditions you will be shown the details of the registration fee you have to pay.
** On clicking the Pay Now button you will be guided to the payment gateway. You can use Debit Card/ Cash Card/ATM or Internet Banking for making payment.
** Those students who don’t have any of the above facilities for online payment can register their applications and make payments at the nearest Akshaya Centre. The Akshaya Centre staff will help you to remit the fee using their Internet banking/Debit/Credit Card facility.
** No other mode of payment of registration fee including chalan/DD from banks, cash receipt from FRIENDS Janasevana kendram, and payment through e-district at Akshaya Centre will be accepted.
** After submitting the application take a print out of the application and keep it for future reference. The hard copy of the application need not be sent to the University.
