Ph.D. Admissions 2015-16 :
1. Only those candidates who are residents of Punjab or Union Territory of Chandigarh are eligible for seeking admission to all Undergraduate, Masters’ and diploma programmes.
2. Candidates should reach the venue mentioned in the admit Card at 9.00 a.m. sharp on the day of Entrance Test. Candidates will not be allowed to enter the Examination Centre without admit Card.
3. The candidates appearing in qualifying examination in the current year can also apply for admission but the original certificates/provisional degree certificate of qualifying examination must be available at the time of counselling/interview.
4. all fresh admissions to Undergraduate, Masters’ and diploma programmes will close on august 11, 2015. Ph.d. admissions will close on February 11, 2016.
5. The candidates reporting for counselling/interview after the scheduled time shall be treated as absent.
6. The counselling will be conducted merit-wise/rank wise. if a candidate misses the 1st counselling, he/she can attend the subsequent counsellings merit-wise, subject to availability of seats.
7. all the newly admitted candidates are required to give an undertaking that they will submit their original certificates/testimonials with the concerned dean within a fortnight of their admission.
8. The seats left vacant in different disciplines of Masters’/Ph.d. programmes where there is no waiting list may be shifted to other disciplines within a particular faculty/college. The shifting of seats in different disciplines will be decided by a committee consisting of dean, Postgraduate Studies (Chairperson), dean of the concerned faculty/college, Registrar and Controller of Examinations. The vacant seats will be shifted only to those disciplines where no candidate has been admitted against reserved categories from sportspersons and Kashmiri Migrants. The committee after assessing the availability of required facilities will shift not more than one seat to a particular discipline. The recommendation of the committee shall be put up to the Vice Chancellor for consideration/ approval.
9. The academic Council is the supreme academic authority to frame rules and regulations, increase/ decrease admission capacity and to decide all other matters relating to admissions and academic affairs.
10. all the programmes of the university are full-time programmes. a student, therefore, cannot take admission in more than one programme simultaneously.
11. The admission to all programmes of the University shall be made by the Registrar, who reserves the right to cancel the admission obtained by misrepresentation/concealment of facts or admission made due to error/oversight, etc.
12. The score on account of research credits/thesis evaluation will not be added for calculating the percentage of marks for admission to Ph.d. programme.
INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING HOW TO APPLY :
Applicants have to pay Rs. 3955/- for each Entrance Test that includes the cost of downloaded form/Prospectus.
A valid unique e-mail ID is necessary for uploading each application form.
1. The candidates are advised to visit PAU website pau.edu and click the following link page on the website PAU Ph.D ADMISSION, 2015-16 ONLINE ENTRANCE TEST APPLICATION FORM
2. A clear and recent passport size coloured photograph with size upto 50 KB in JPG/JPEG format and scanned copy of signature (black/blue) with size upto 50 KB are required for uploading while filling online application form.
3. After completing the application form, the candidate is required to click the ‘SUBMIT’ button.
4. A verification link will be sent to the candidate’s e-mail ID. Candidate has to click on the verification link.
5. After verification, the candidate has to login using his e-mail ID and Date of Birth in order with the relevant Challan Form in order to deposit fee as mentioned on Challan Form.
6. No further correspondence will be entertained with respect to the receipt of application forms, etc. to download/print the application form and the Bank Challan Form of Punjab National Bank. A Unique Identity (UID) number will appear on the top of application form as well as on the Challan Form.
7. After depositing the fee, the bank will return two parts of the Challan Form duly stamped with journal number. The candidate must retain the candidate’s copy of Challan Form and send the University copy of the challan form along with computer generated print-out of application form duly signed by the candidate and his/her parents/guardian and white application form along with copies of certificates / testimonials to The Registrar, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana 141 004 clearly mentioning the name of entrance test on the envelope before the last date of receipt of application forms.
8. After taking the printout, the candidate has to visit any branch of Punjab National Bank
LIST OF ATTESTED CERTIFICATES/TESTIMONIALS TO BE ATTACHED WITH THE APPLICATION FORM :
1. Certificate as evidence of belonging to reserve category (ies) (Annexure I to VIII).
2. Annexure C as evidence of an outstanding sportsperson.
3. Residence Certificate.
4. Certificate as an evidence of date of birth.
5. Certificate of degrees, diplomas and qualifying examination(s) passed.
6. Detailed marks certificates of all the parts of the examination(s) which qualifies the candidate for admission.
7. Character Certificate from the Principal of school/college last attended.
Note : Original degrees/provisional degree certificates, diplomas and all other certificates etc. should be produced at the time of counselling/interview.
