Question 01: How is JAM 2016 examination different from JAM 2015 examination?
Answer: The mode of examination will be the same in 2016 as it was in 2015 For details we can see previous year Question papers available at the JAM site.

Question 02:
Why should I appear for JAM 2016 Examination ?
Answer:
JAM 2016 Examination is conducted for admission to various academic programmes (as listed in the Information Brochure) in IISc and IITs for the academic year 2016-2017 only. In all cases, you must go through carefully the Information Brochure and/or the link Eligibility Requirements & MEQ at JAM 2016 website and check the Eligibility Requirements and Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ) of the programme(s) in which you wish to seek admission before deciding on applying for JAM 2016 examination. If you have not yet graduated in the qualifying degree, you are still eligible to appear in JAM 2016 examination.
However, on qualifying in JAM 2016 examination, you can apply for provisional admission subject to the condition that: (a) all parts of your final examination shall be completed by the date of registration of the Admitting Institute, and (b) proof of having passed the qualifying degree with required eligibility, as specified by the Admitting Institute, will be submitted by September 30,2016
Question 03:
After submission of application, am I permitted to change my JAM Examination Paper(s) and Examination City?
Answer:
Requests for change of JAM Examination paper(s) after the submission of Application Form will not be considered under any circumstances. Therefore, you must make clear choice(s) of the test paper(s) that you wish to appear in JAM 2016.
However, requests for change of examination city will be accepted until a deadline against a fee. Please refer to the Information Brochure for more information on this.
Question 04:
Will I be provided the paper sheets for rough work and calculations during the test?
Answer:
A scribble pad will be provided to the candidate that can be used to do the rough work. The candidate has to return the scribble pad after the examination.
Qusetion 05:
Am I allowed to leave the examination hall during the test?
Answer:
No. Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall for any reason during the test. Candidates are allowed to leave the examination hall only after the closure of the test at the scheduled end of examination in a session.
Question 06:
What items are not permitted to be brought with me inside the examination venue?
Answer:
Electronic diary, mobile phone, and any such electronic gadgets,blank papers,clip boards and log-tables will not be allowed inside the examination venue. Also, No calculators are allowed(programmable as well as non-programmable).
Question 07:
Can I bring a calculator during the examination?
Answer:
No. A virtual calculator will be available on the Computer screens for calculations.
Question 08:
Will there be any arrangement at the test centre for the safe keeping of my personal items such as my mobile phone?
Answer:
No. Such arrangements will not be possible at the test centre
