Q.1 Do I need to apply separately for admission even after appearing in JEE (Main)-2015?

Yes. The candidate will be considered for admission to these six institutes only if he/she registers on-line on or before 13th July, 2015 by paying a Registration fees of Rs. 1500/- . In case the candidate is applying under Sports category then he/she is required to submit hard copy of the registration form along with three sets of photo copy of all valid documents in addition to original affidavits/form required for claiming sports category by 16th July, 2015, 5.00 p.m. at JAC Office, Dr.SSBUICET, Panjab University, Chandigarh.

Q.2 Do I need to apply separately for each institution mentioned on your website?

No. Only one application is required for all six institutes.

Q.3 What do you mean by Chandigarh Quota and All India Quota?

Candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) from schools/colleges located in the Union Territory, Chandigarh and recognized by the Chandigarh Administration, are considered under the Chandigarh Quota (for PEC/CCET/CCA only) and all other students who have passed their qualifying examination from elsewhere, fall under All India Quota. Candidates are required to give the name of the school last attended along with address of the school and PINCODE while applying online.

Q.4 I am found eligible under relaxed criteria for SC/ST/PwD/BC category as per cut off marks declared by CBSE. Now, on the basis of these cut off marks, am I eligible for any other category like Sports, Defence, Freedom Fighter etc.
The candidates desirous to apply under various categories such as Persons with Disability (PwD) or Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) or Backward Classes (BC); the cut off marks for eligibility shall be the marks decided by the CBSE. The lower percentage of marks in Class 12 or equivalent qualifying exam and/or relaxed criteria (cut off) for one category cannot be considered for reservation to other categories, thereby implying that these candidates will NOT be considered for reservation under any other category with relaxed criteria.

Q.5 Can a single application be made for multiple categories?
Yes. Every candidate has to submit only one application form mentioning all categories in which he/she wants to avail reservation/s. The category (SC/ST/PwD) already mentioned in the JEE (Main) result-2015 will be treated as final and the candidate will not be allowed to change the category during registration. It means if any candidate has filled General category in JEE (Main)-2015, then he/she will not be considered under SC/ST/PwD category.

Q.6 Do I need to register myself separately for all rounds of counselling?

Online registration by candidates is allowed only once and the last date for registration is 13th July, 2015 by paying an online registration fee of Rs.1500/-. No fresh registrations will be allowed in the subsequent rounds of counselling.

Q.7 If I skip first online registration data, can I register afterwards.

No fresh registrations will be allowed in the subsequent rounds of counselling. Last date for Online registration is 13th July 2015.

Q.8 What would I do if I forgot my password?
If a candidate forgets his/her password, the additional information provided by the candidate at the time of registration will be used to get the new password. Hence, every candidate has to enter the required additional information as indicated in the registration form at the time of registration. A candidate can change his/her password after login, if desired.

Q.9 Do I need to apply separately for Engineering and Architecture courses?

A candidate applying for both Engineering and Architecture courses should register only once and choose course applying for as Both.

Q 10 Do I need to send any confirmation slip to JAC-2015, Chandigarh?

Only the candidates applying under Sports Category (code 15)( as given in Annexure I of Information Brochure) are required to send their confirmation slip (generated online), EPG receipt and three self-attested photocopies of the certificates in addition to original affidavits as mentioned in brochure.

Q 11 Can I skip the physical verification of documents on 16-17th July 2015.

It is mandatory for the candidates desirous of seeking admission under reserved categories (Code 2, 5-14 and 16-36) to get the documents verified in order to be eligible for participating in online counselling. Candidates who do not appear for document verification will not be considered for counselling in the reserved categories. However, they will be considered for General Category only.

Q.12 Is the counselling/registration fee to be paid during all rounds of counselling?

No. Registration fee of Rs. 1500/- is to be paid only once.

Q.13 If I am issued a certificate for seeking reservation after the closing date of application, will that certificate be entertained?
All the certificates claiming reservation under various categories must have been issued on or before 16th or 17th July, 2015 (upto 5.00 p.m.) as the case may be. This is the date finalized for Documents verification. However, last date for submission of certificates/affidavits for claiming Sports category reservation, is 16th July,2015.

Q.14 If I do not mention a particular category in my application, will I be considered for that on request at the time of counselling?
No, the category mentioned in Registration form during online registration will be considered as FINAL.

Q.15 Can I change my filled choices and their preference order?

Candidates are permitted, if they so desire, to change or re-order their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times until they lock their final choices before final locking date. Candidates must lock their choices only after they have finalized them, but in any case, before last date & time. After the choices are locked, candidates will not be able to change their choices. Their Last Saved Choices Will Be Automatically Locked after the deadline. Candidates are therefore strongly advised to lock their choices themselves and secure a printout of these locked choices.

Q.16 If I am allotted a branch in first round of counselling but I do not pay fees, will I still be eligible for next round of counselling?
The allotted seat will be automatically cancelled and you will not be considered for subsequent rounds of counselling. Howsoever, you are eligible to participate in SPOT round of counselling after paying a participation fee of Rs.40,000/-.

Q.17 If I take admission in one particular institute through Joint Admission Committee in first round of counselling and shift to some other institute in subsequent round of counselling, will my fees be adjusted ?
Yes, the fee will be adjusted and the excess fee, if any, will be paid by the candidate as per Institute’s requirement after the process of final allotment is over.

Q.18 Do I need to physically report somewhere after first round of counselling for paying fees?

Candidates are not required to go anywhere for physical reporting after seat allotment. Payment of fees online and submission of willingness for the subsequent rounds will be treated as reporting against his/her allotted seat.

Q.19 Can I change my choices after first round of counselling?

Yes, candidates can modify their choices after 1st round of counselling. Otherwise, choices submitted for 1st round will be considered for 2nd and 3rd round of seat allotment. As per new choices, a new seat may be allotted or previous seat will be retained. If a new seat/branch is not allotted, his/her previous seat will be retained.

Q.20 I was allotted a seat of my choice in first/second/third round of counselling. Due to certain reasons, even after paying fees of Rs.40,000/-, I had to apply for withdrawal of admission process. Now, I am interested to participate in SPOT round of counselling. What should I do ?
If you have paid a fees of Rs. 40,000/- already, you can participate in SPOT round of counselling. If you have not paid a fees before, then after paying a participation fees of Rs. 40,000/- you will be eligible for SPOT round of counselling.
