KBP University Ph.D. Entrance Test
Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) 2024-2025 is conducted by Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University, Satara. Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Ph.D Programme conducted by the University. Last Date foe submission of Application is 15th September 2024.

Eligibility for Ph.D. Entrance Test
Subject to the conditions prescribed from time to time under the rules, the following persons are eligible to seek admission to the Ph.D. programme:
a) Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. programme shall have a Master’s degree or a professional degree declared equivalent to the Master’s Degree by the Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil University or by statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate.
b) A relaxation of 5% of marks or an equivalent relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to (SC/ST/VJA/NT-B/NT-C/NT-D/OBC/SEBC*/EWS) and/or Differently-abled candidates as per policies of the Government prescribed from time to time.
c) Candidates who have cleared the M.Phil. course work of any approved, recognized institute with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale shall be eligible to PET exam provided that the candidate joins such programme without any break.
d) Candidates possessing NET qualification with Eligibility as JRF/Appointment as Assistant Professor/admission to Ph.D. are eligible for admission as per UGC Circular No. F. 4-1(UGC-NET Review Committee)/2024 (NET)/140648 dated 28 March, 2024/8 chaitra 1946. (Provided that candidate applied in time through proper channel
e) The candidates with following qualifications shall be assigned with the additional marks shown against the qualification. However the total marks shall not exceed seven. These marks shall be added to the total score of entrance test of respective candidate. The order of merit for admission to Ph.D. shall be decided on the basis of the total sum.
Scheme of Ph.D. Entrance Test
Candidate shall be admitted to Ph.D. program by a two stage process through:-
a) Entrance Examination, which shall be a qualifying test. The entrance Examination will be of 100 marks with multiple choice type questions.
b) Personal Interview of candidates qualifying the entrance examination/candidates exempted from the Entrance Examination to be conducted as per procedure prescribed.

Duration of Entrance Exam: 1 Hrs and 30 Minutes (90 min.)
All questions shall be with multiple options and each correct answer carries 2 Marks. No negative marking system.
c) Standard of minimum passing:
General Category : 50 % Marks.
Reserved Category : 45 % Marks.
d) For selection of a candidate, a weightage of 70% to the entrance test and 30% to the performance in interview/viva-voce shall be given.
Important Instructions of Ph.D. Entrance Test
1. A candidate is allowed to apply for more than one Programme. However, he/she will have to apply separately for each Programme for Entrance along with required fees.
2. Merit list will be declared purely on entrance examination marks only. If the entrance examination marks are the same, the CGPA of the previous year will be considered.
3. The candidate must apply through online mode on the University website unikbp.ac.in/ Under ‘Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) 2024-2025’ link.
4. The candidate should preserve a printout of the online form submitted and should submit it at the time of the final admission.
5. Ph.D Programme: Candidates who have already Appearing for Last Semester’s examination of the PG Programme (M.A., M.Sc., M.Com etc) can also apply for Entrance Test for Post Graduate Programme/s. However, they must submit a copy of their Final Statement of Marks of qualifying examination at the time of admission otherwise they will not be eligible for admission.
6. The changes in reservation policy of Government of Maharashtra and UGC New Delhi from time to time will be followed.
7. Please note that the intake quota that is displayed along with admission notification for various subjects may vary.
8. The candidates need not to submit hard copy of online application to university. However, the candidate may get the print out of online application and retain the same for his/her personal information/records.
9. The fee of entrance test shall be remitted through Online Payment Gateway facility.
10. Application will be considered only after confirmation of payment.
