BAMU Ph.D. Entrance Test PET
Online applications are invited for the Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) from the aspiring eligible candidates who want to pursue Ph.D. Programme in different disciplines at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. The last date of receipt of Online applications is 20/07/2024.
Eligibility Criteria for PET
Eligibility Criteria for the Admission to the Ph.D. Programme:
The minimum academic qualifications required for seeking admission to the Ph.D. program shall be as given below in respect of the different faculties
Candidates who have completed :
** A 1-year/2-semester master’s degree program after a 4-years/8-semester bachelor’s degree program or a 2-year/4-semester Master’s Degree program after a 3-years bachelor’s degree program or qualifications declared equivalent to the Master’s Degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed.
Or
** An equivalent qualification from a foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency which is approved, recognized, or authorized by an authority, established, or incorporated under a law in its home country or any other statutory authority in that country to assess, accredit or assure quality and standards of the educational institution.
** A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the Commission from time to time.
** Provided that a candidate seeking admission after a 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree program should have a minimum of 75% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed.
**A relaxation of 5% marks or its equivalent grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/Differently-Abled, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and other categories of candidates as per the decision of the University Grants Commission from time to time.
** The candidate who has been declared to be qualified in the Entrance Test (PET) of the university shall be eligible to submit his/her application for admission/registration for a Ph.D. within a period as stipulated in the University notification to be issued after PET examination.

Rs. 1000/- for (For Open category Candidates)
Rs. 500/- for (For Backward class category Candidates)
Instruction for Ph.D. Entrance Test
1. The Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) shall be conducted in one phase only
2. PET shall be offline and of a duration of 2 hours with maximum 100 marks.
3. Entrance test (PET) shall consist of 50% questions based on research methodology and 50% shall be subject specific.
4. A student scoring at least 50 marks (in case of open category students) and 45 marks (incase of backward class category students) will be eligible to be called for the interview.
5. Syllabus for PET is available on the University website.
6. The PET 2024 score will be valid for 1 year only.
7. Successful in PET examination or merely submission of application for Ph.D. registration shall not confer on the candidates right of Admission to Ph.D. programme.
8. Admission to Ph.D. Programme shall be on availability of vacant seats with University recognized Ph.D. Supervisors as per decision of RRC.
9. Any changes in the schedule of PET will be notified on the University website online.bamu.ac.in/unic/phd/
Procedure for Online Application of PET
** Online application form and the relevant are available on the link online.bamu.ac.in/unic/phd/
** The Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) shall be conducted in ONLINE / OFFLINE mode.
** The university shall invite applications from eligible candidates, desirous of appearing for the PET, and all the application forms shall be filled only ONLINE on the website of university and printouts of the forms along with certificates and prescribed fees in the form of Online mode and shall be submitted in the office of the Ph.D. Section.
** On scrutiny of the applications to determine eligibility, the university shall prepare the statement along with all the particulars of the applicants and publish the list of eligible candidates with their Roll Numbers. Online application and registration for Ph.D. admission is compulsory for candidates willing to appear for PET.

Note:
1) The PET 2024 score will be valid for 1 year only.
2) Successful in PET examination or merely submission of application for Ph.D. Registration shall not Confer on the candidate right of Admission to Ph.D. Programme.
3) Admission to Ph.D. Programme shall be on availability of vacant seats & with Ph.D. Supervisor as per Ph. D Ordinance 2024 (Minimum Stand and Procedure for award of Ph. D Degree) and UGC Regulation Nov 07, 2022.
