JAC Joint Admission Committee Chandigarh

JAC or Joint Admission Committee conducts admissions to BE, B.Arch, Integrated BE (Chemical), MBA courses offered by listed institutes in Chandigarh on the basis of JEE Main scores and pass percentage secured in Class XII or equivalent examination. The admission process is popularly known as JAC Chandigarh admissions. Since admissions are based on All India Ranks of JEE Main, there is no entrance exam. Interested candidates only have to apply for the counselling process conducted by JAC.

JAC Eligibility Conditions

Eligibility conditions for admission to various B.E./B.Arch./Integrated B.E.(Chemical)-MBA courses at the participating institutes are as detailed below:
B.E./ Integrated B.E. (Chemical)- MBA :
1. All India Rank prepared by National Testing Agency (NTA) on the basis of score in JEE (Main)-2024 Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech.
2. Passed 10+2/equivalent examination with 5 subjects
(i) Language (Hindi/ English/Punjabi/ Any Other Language)
(ii) Physics
(iii) Mathematics
(iv) Any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject
(v) Any other subject
OR
Passed 10+3 Diploma with Mathematics as compulsory subject.

B. Arch. :
1. All India Rank prepared by National Testing Agency (NTA) on the basis of score in JEE (Main)-2024 Paper – 2A (B. Architecture).
2. Passed 10+2 scheme of examination with at least 50 per cent. aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and also at least 50 percent. marks in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination.
or
Passed 10+3 Diploma Examination with Mathematics as compulsory subject with at least 50 per cent. marks in aggregate.

Q3. Do I need to apply separately for admission even after appearing in JEE (Main)- 2024?
Yes, you are required to apply separately after appearing for JEE (MAIN)-2024. The candidate will be considered for admission to the five participating institutes under JAC-2024, if and only if he/she registers online before the stipulated deadline by paying the counselling fees as mentioned in the JAC Information Brochure-2024 (https://jacchd.admissions.nic.in/).

Q4. Do I need to apply separately for each institution mentioned on your website?
No, you need not apply separately. You become eligible to seek admission in any of the five institutes depending upon your choice (of institution and/or branch) and JEE-Main (2024) rank after registering in JAC-2024 through its online portal (https://jacchd.admissions.nic.in/). During the course of counselling, you may shift from one institute to another as per the rank and choices filled by you on the portal.

Q5. Can a single application be made for multiple categories?
Yes. Every candidate has to register only once to apply for all categories in which reservation(s) is(are) to be availed. During the course of counselling, you may be assigned seat as per the availability of seats according to your rank, category/(ies) and choices filled by you on the portal. It may be noted that no candidate shall be considered for admission against a category for which he/she has not applied before the stipulated deadline. If no mention is made about the category in his/her application, the candidate shall be considered only for the General Category, subject to fulfilment of eligibility conditions. Q7. Do I need to register myself separately for all rounds of counselling?
No, you are required to register only once for all rounds of counselling. Filling of Online Registration Form followed by payment of Counselling fee by eligible candidates shall be allowed only at the beginning of the admission process or prior to the Special Round (if not registered earlier) as per the schedule displayed on the website at : https://jacchd.admissions.nic.in/document/schedule/

Q8. Is the counselling fee to be paid during all counselling rounds?

No. Counselling fee is to be paid only once at the time of registration to participate in all rounds of counselling including the Spot round.

Q9. Will I be eligible for next rounds of counselling if I do not participate in previous round?
A candidate who has completed the registration process and has paid the counselling fee, will be eligible to participate in the counselling. Registered candidates, who do not exercise any choices in any of the three rounds and Special Round, shall not be considered for seat allotment. However, they will be eligible for the Spot Round of Counselling after depositing advance seat acceptance fee of ₹40,000/-.

Q10. Can I skip first round of online counselling and register after it?

No, you cannot skip first round of online counselling. Registration by candidates is allowed only before the 1st round of counselling and also before the Special Round as per schedule given at: https://jacchd.admissions.nic.in/document/schedule/
