IISER Aptitude Test
Indian Institutes of Science Education & Research, BS/MS Admission IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2021.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed 10+2 or equivalent level exam with science stream in 2020 or 2021 from any board recognized by Council of Boards of School Education in India (COBSE) and have scored within the category-wise cut-off are eligible to apply for admissions to IISER only through the following three channels:
(1) Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) channel
(2) Joint Entrance Examination (JEE-Advanced) of the Indian Institutes of Technology
(3) State and Central Boards Channel (SCB)
Note:
** These channels will be referred to as KVPY, JEE, and SCB, respectively. Due to Covid-19, the following amendment to the eligibility criteria for admission to the BS-MS and BS programs of IISERs were relaxed in 2020 and will be continued in 2021:
** The cut-off marks in (10+2) as eligibility for admissions is: 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade for GEN/OBC and OBC-NCL categories and 55% for SC/ST/PWD in any recognized board.
How To Apply?
** Online application portal is now open for KVPY and SCB channels. Last date for these channels: 31st August 2021.
** Application process involves the following two steps: Registration and Application.
** Once the ‘Registration’ is complete, you can proceed for the ‘Application’.

Instructions For Registration
** You require a mobile number for registration. Once registered the same number cannot be used for a different registration and cannot be changed.
** Fill the registration form for obtaining User ID and password.
** Fields marked with * are mandatory.
** Fill in all the required details and click on Submit to proceed.
** Your User ID and password will be sent to the registered mobile number through SMS and to your registered email address.
** You are encouraged to change your password the first time you log in to the system using the credentials sent to you.
Required Documents
Kindly be ready with the soft/scanned copies of the following before filling the application form:
1) Photo (max size: 200 KB, format supported: Only JPEG and JPG)
2) Signature (max size: 200 KB, format supported: Only JPEG and JPG)
3) Mark sheet of 12th class or equivalent (candidates appearing for exam in 2021 may upload later) (maximum size: 1 MB, format supported: Only PDF, JPEG and JPG)
4) Category certificate (if applicable) (maximum size: 1 MB, format supported: Only JPEG, JPG and PDF).
You should also upload the following documents in the application form, if applicable. In case you can’t upload these documents at this point of time, please keep them ready. You may be asked to provide them at a later point.
1. Photo ID (not mandatory now, will be needed later) (maximum size: 200 KB, format supported: Only JPEG, JPG and PDF).
2. Kashmiri Migrant certificate (not mandatory now, will be needed later if applicable) (maximum size: 1 MB, format supported: Only PDF, JPEG and JPG).
3. Medical certificate for PwD (not mandatory now, will be needed later if applicable) (maximum size: 1 MB, format supported: Only PDF, JPEG and JPG).
4. OCI/PIO certificate (not mandatory now, will be needed later if applicable) (maximum size: 1 MB, format supported: Only PDF, JPEG and JPG).
Application Fee
Please note that the application will not be complete unless the application fee is paid online – as the form will direct you to. There is a non-refundable application fee of Rs.2,000/- for candidates applying under General, EWS, and OBC-NCL categories, and Rs.1,000/- for Persons with Disabilities and candidates under SC/ST category. The application fee for foreign nationals is USD 100.
Important Dates
Due to an inadvertent error the newspaper advertisement published on the 4th of July mention the date of closing of the application portal for the KVPY and SCB channels as 31 July. The actual closing date stands unchanged at 31st August. Inconvenience caused by this error is regretted.
