Issue of Xerox Copy of Answer Scripts:
With a view to bring transparency in the evaluation system, from the Higher Secondary Examination held in March 2001 onwards, Xerox copy of answer scripts are given to students in six subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Botany & Maths.

Fees for Xerox copy of Answer Scripts and Mode of Payment
Demand Draft of Rs. 275 (for each subject)
The Student has to apply to
The Director,
Directorate of Government Examination,
College Road, D.P.I. Campus,
Nungabakkam,
Chennai – 600 006.The Demand Deraft should be drawn in favour of :
Director,
Directorate of Government Examination,
Chennai-6
Once the demand draft is submitted to Director of Government Examination, the application form will be issued. The filled application form should be submitted immediately to the Director.
Approximately it takes 20 days for processing the application and Director of Government Examination will send a xerox copy of the answer script to the student
The following seven subjects are covered for Xerox copy of answer scripts:
Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Maths, Physics, and Zoology of Higher Secondary Examination
Application forms can be obtained from Directorate/Regional Offices/Chief Educational Offices.
Revaluation:
In addition to issue of Xerox copies of answer scripts, revaluation is also permitted in the Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Zoology, Botany and Maths of Plus Two Examiantion. The scripts are revalued by a three-member committee of subject experts. Any increase or decrease in marks on revaluation is effected in both ways. This system had ensured not only transparency in the evaluation methods adopted but also bring into focus the accountability of teachers. Only those candidates, who apply for Xerox copy of answer scripts are permitted to apply for revaluation. Revaluation should be applied to Director of Government Examination within 5 days of the receipt of xerox copy of the answer scripts.
Director of Government Examination will issue the application form and it should be submitted to The Director, Directorate of Government Examination, Chennai-6
Processing of the application takes approximately 25 to 30 days.
Fees & Mode of Payment:
Fee for revaluation of each subject (Rs.5/- Service Charge) – Rs.505/=
Candidates in Chennai City should remit the prescribed fee in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of:

Candidates other than Chennai City may remit the prescribed fee under the following Head of Account through Challan in Treasury/Sub-Treasury.

Re-totaling:
Candidates are permitted to apply for re-totaling in all subjects within the dates prescribed by this Department after the publication of results. Only increase in marks will be given effect.
Re-totaling all subjects in Higher Secondary & SSLC should be applied to Director of Government Examination within 5 days of the receipt of photostat copy of the answer scripts
Fees and Mode of Payment:
For each Subject (Service Charge Rs. 5)-Rs.200 + 5/-
For subjects comprising two papers, Eg, Biology, English & Tamil (Service Charge Rs. 5)-Rs.300 + 5/-
Candidates in Chennai City should remit the prescribed fee in the form of D.D. drawn in favour of :

Chennai – 600 006.
from a Nationalised Bank.
Candidates other than Chennai City may remit the prescribed fee under the following Head of Account through Chelan in Treasury/Sub-Treasury.
